Post subject:  Best/Worst Puzzle Games?
Puzzle games, while not as action filled like your first person shooter or RPG, does have a genre of it's own, setting more of a casual scene than a competitive one. But what is your favorite and your despised puzzle game?


Best:

Lumines Series and Meteos (DS):

Lumines is easy to play, hard to master, has a great soundtrack and is very addictive. it surprisingly has a good multiplayer mode where it's like a tug of war, where the more 2x2 squares you make, the more the field pushes towards your opponent, the less room he has to work with.

Meteos on the DS is also very good, easy to play, hard to master, great soundtrack, addictive, and is more battle focused than Lumines is. Though it's a "play until the field fills up" game.


Worst:

Peggle:

If you can count it as a puzzle game, than Peggle is by far the worst; boring, horrible music, too luck based than actual skill. The only thing good about it is that it has semi decent sounds and backgrounds.

Best puzzle game series ever: The Legend of Zelda.
It also qualifies as one of the best action/adventure series too. :)

Yeah legend of zelda is full of nice puzzles.
Well I have to add the most classic game called tetris, simple rules and addictive gameplay, I even had that game on my calculator and played in cable network with them (yeah just like a gameboy in disguise hah)

Aha, someone has jacked my approach... ;)

I'd have to say, Portal, since I haven't played many puzzle games.. :D

Perhaps some of the puzzles from Dungeon Siege 2 as well... :think:

I remember played old Tomb Raider games for curiosity of the girl ;D (unfortunately, the puzzles are not my specialty on this game), I'm very bad solving them. However, I have Tomb Raider Underworld and I like it.

No doubt, my speciality are frenetic action games. ;D

I've always liked the Myst Series. Very focussed on the puzzles, but without neglecting story and exploration.

Tome Raider: Game of a Thousand deaths. (play the first one. You'll see.)

I played meteos. I don't recall it being much of a puzzle game. And peggle? How on earth? That's no puzzle game at all. Myst was never my style. Didn't much enjoy point and click styles.

Puzzle games... puzzle... Hm. Not really my genre. I've played plenty with puzzles IN them, like Call of cthulu DCotE. Castlevania games qualify on occasion.

Oh! Worst puzzle game ever. Mac logo game. You've all played it, not one of you has played it since.
