Hi, folks.

I've been playing UT2k4 + Junk Wars again yesterday and I was just wondering...
what kind of scythe is that supposed to be?

I'm not quite sure, is this some special kind of saber-scythe or something?
This is a scythe as I (and probably everyone else) know it:

I mean, the blade is too short and also your character seems to be holding it wrong!
It looks more like a zanbatou, to be honest.

I'M JUST WONDERING WHAT KIND OF SCYTHE THAT IS. I MEAN SERIOUSLY WAT.

Legit yeah; but I guess people are expecting the reaper's scythe than something that looks like a war scythe / naguinata. I believe it's this.
BTW I didn't knew how that thing was called captain ;)

I've never seen a billhook scythe before!

I'd really like to see a "regular" scythe in JW though...
I already got some models, too bad I've got absolutely no experience so it's hard for me to follow your JW tutorial, Xavious. :<

Well I don't think there is any proper animation for a regular scythe in JW.
But the good thing is that it requires mainly a static mesh and very few coding, still ask about your problem maybe someone here will help you ;)

I think the mamooth weapon animations are pretty much fitting for a scythe.
I've got some time this week maybe I'm going to look into importing the static mesh and making my own little JW pack, although I've got absolutely no experience besides mapping.

Already got a sword, scythe and golf club mesh. Looking for a battle axe (and someone to make the pack in case I'm too dumb :D)

EDIT:
Meh... tried but realized I REALLY lack some essential knowledge. Well, let's get back to mapping...

Is it possible to all of this completely without Maya?
What 3D editors are also capable of converting into UEd formats? Blender?

And is it possible to convert 3dmax to another format without owning 3dmax? If not: Someone w. 3dmax here? :D

I got a battle axe model just chilling on my hard drive. Blender can import 3ds files, though you may need to wield verts (not hard).

Np, already got one by myself!
Planning to do 8 weapons, got some free time this week.

It's a .max file though, not a .3ds file.

Also I didn't quite get how to import a static mesh to Unrealed when it only supports .lwe and .aso

Let's see if I can get help somewhere, my lack of "everything besides UEd"-skill makes this pretty tough. :D
Already did a quick Blender crash course, knowing its basics won't hurt anyway.
