You guys want pretty graphics? I'll start with this one from HalfLife 2 Episode One, pay attention to the use of High Dynamic Range lighting effects on the hot girl.

I know that girl, she's also available in 2K4 port format, along with all her HalfLife 2 buddies! I especially enjoy blasting that alien pusbag creature (Vortigaunt or whatever) with the double barreled shotgun... You should try it too, it's extremely satisfying. Oh and who needs her naked when you have Tatz and Tina...

Tatz (quite nude!  )
Tina (bikini edit...) Some other kickass female models: Trainer Girl Meryl Angel Interceptor Fallen Angel (semi-nude skin for the Angel Interceptor model) Unreal 2 Aida (includes crappy crotchless skin. The regular model looks pretty good tho) Aida's Voicepack Oh and FFS don't use 2K4's default unpleasant, dyke-like female voices with these fine ladies!!  I highly recommend using the original UT99 voices -which are infinitely superior- instead. There are some other good ones as well, if you look around a bit...

That picture gives you a good idea of what DX9 and FSAA can do to the graphics, you see blurry edges and DX9 shaders like on the energy ball in front of Gordon. |

yeah but i when Vista comes out every new game will be DX10 only and i'm sure Microsoft isn't gonna give Xp DX10. Can't wait for another screenshot. If you have any battles shots with the Combine Zombie please post them  I really want to see them also if you mind taking a pic of a headcrab (dead if possible) to what a high end headcrab looks like, you know shaders and bump mapping stuff.

That is not correct, it will be a looooong time before games drop DX9 support. I mean, even Call of Duty 2 has DX7 support. I don't know if I can get a picture of the headcrab any time soon, they are far away from my savegame status and I'm also bored of HL2.  But I could maybe get a picture of the Zombine soon.

It isn't too expensive, you can get this kind of graphics for around $1000. The next picture I chose to post is one of my favorites, I pressed print screen just at the right moment during the final train ride of HL2 Episode One.

The Trainer Girls and Angel Interceptor have some armor...
Oh and re the 3rd pic: nice lighting n all, but where's the blood and gore?? And I'm not too impressed with the weapon, which actually looks rougher than BW's... But it sure must be nice to have such a hot rig!

The blood and gore dissapears quickly, I hated that. I was too late hitting print screen after finding a good position for the screenshot. Believe me, that guy and the floor and wall was soaked in blood. As for the gun, I agree that it looks a bit rough. The weapons in FEAR aren't too high quality overall. But the graphics on the other hand... Will post a new screenshot very soon. |

The only thing that sucks about that model pack is that their are a ton of rebel guys and at least 2 of them are in any instant match you play. |

Lol, yeah, don't really have that problem, always use the bot roster instead of the random thingy. But those citizens are definitely a bit spammy! They're perfect for JailBreak though, look like a bunch of cons.

For some damn reason Bot Roster never seems to ever work for me, dunno why it just doesn't work... oh well. But yeah the Rebels are fun to kill in JB. |
