A hand grenade that, when thrown normally, automatically detonates when it descends to roughly 2 player heights above the ground. Or, alternatively, when it comes within a certain range of an enemy player (more versatile).

It shoots out small, thin flak shards (like the ones fired by UT's Flak Cannon) in all directions. The shards, which can also bounce around a bit, do most of the damage; the primary blast radius is relatively small.

Great against enemies who have taken cover behind walls, crates, vehicles etc., large groups of foot soldiers, and in tight spaces (very deadly due to all the bouncing shards -- can you say 'meatgrinder'?). :evil:

The mace's spikes would be the flak shards, embedded in an explosive ball or tube. Altfire could be a melee attack -- beat your enemy to death like you would with a normal mace. careful though, it might go off in yer face... :lol:

I love the idea! But this one would be very dangerous if you don´t throw around a corner...:S

i love this idea...what about maybe being able to lodge it in your enemy and have it go off a few seconds later...give them a chance to run to their buddies or something

Yeah, making it stick to enemies would be a nice bonus feature! Could be selected with Special (or reload)... So normal mode is proximity burst, and special turns that off so it can hit people and stick to them. Something like that, anyway.
