Surface to Air Anti-Air Missile Launcher

The idea is simple. A portable rocket launcher, very similar to the G5.
It has an Optical Scope equiped with a 10x zoom, Range finder and target system.
The weapon itself will be a single shot, having to be reloaded after each shot, by sticking a rocket into the front end of the missile tube. It would take about 15 secs to reload. The rocket itself is the real special part.
The rocket would travel very fast, about a speed of 2000, fast enought to take out any air vehicle, or even a hovercraft. The only drawback is the rocket, while guided, isnt too manuverable. The rocket doesnt have too much of a blast radius, and the damage is just with the hit. Damge would be probably about 300-400.
To balance out the weapon, you can only fire it if you have a positive lock.
Effects: Upon fireing the weapon, the rocket is ejected from the tube, and about a 1/2 sec after the rocket being launched out, it ignites and zooms twords the target. If however, there is soemthing in front of you when you fire it, and the rocket doesnt have enought room to fly before ignition, or you have no target, the rocket will fall to the ground harmlessly. However, once on the ground its still live, and if shot will explode. causing much damage to those around. The max ammo you can carry would be low, maybe around 5 or 6.

RPG-13
This is basically a single shot version of the G5. Reloading is just like the SA-13, and takes 15 secs to reload.
The Rocket projectile will travel very fast, about 1600, and do slightly less damage than the G5, but with a larger blast radius. The rocket is not guided, and can be slightly inaccurate at times. The weapon also has another feature to it, which i think many rocketlauncher need, and thats backblast. Backblast happens when the rocket in the tube ignites and the blast from the rocket is expelled out of the rear of the tube. This back blast will harm anyone standing behind the weapon when fired, causing large damage. The weapon would also have a melee, where you would whip the end of the tube at your foe, doing lots of damage, but a slow recover rate.

The SMAT that I've been designing is very similar to your rocket ideas. I was also planning on having a sort of grenade fire as secondary, but it proved too hard to code.

The BW rocket launchers do have backblast, btw, they just don't do any damage.

We don't need more powerful weapons. (-,-) Why is everyone screaming for weapons that are more powerful than the G5, minigun, D49 etc?

Just because the weapons are more powerful doesn't mean they wont be balanced.

Becaause, other than the new HAMR, and the staves, G5 and MRL to some extent, are the only guns with monster firepower.

Powerful weapons are too be few and rare.

This is BW! People like explosions, especially huge ones that tear people into tiny little chunks and send said chunks flyign halfway across the map. I say give the people what they want: the ability to lug around five potential tank-busters, and a pair of magical staves of doom.

Also, I think 15 seconds is ridiculously long, even for a rocket launcher. 15 seconds is longer than it sounds. It takes 5 seconds max to reload both rockets of the G5. Besides, how hard can it be to shove a rocket into the end of the gun. The Panzerfaust was simple to reload, you just slotted a new rocket onto the end of the weapon.

If there are too many powerful things you turn too much attention to them and you start to see standard things as weak and boring.

I can stand everything except the powerful pistols. When I play(ed ) online I never used them (and a few others) even if it was my only ranged weapon.

Heh... Yes, in game-, most of those are. The Railgun and HVC I forgot about for a moment, but the Flamethrower ,Mingun and other small arms are not, in realistic terms, weapons that could rip down a tank in seconds. In-game, though, they CAN rip a tank down in a few seconds. When I say mostrous Firepower, I mean big, huge guns that will the enemy cringe at the sight of them, even in a tank or vehicle, in an actaul battle situation
