I already spat out a couple of ideas for Skrith grenades... involving things similar to smoke grenades only opposite it, where they emit something that absorbs light waves that only skrith could see and humans can't, sort of working like a flare, or perhaps an opposite approach where its light waves they can't see and humans can, creating something like a one way smoke screen. Quiet and sneaky.

But this is getting a bit off topic, you can discuss other skrith weapon ideas in a new thread or in the general Skrith thread found in the BW general section.

Skirth weapons? bear with me while I dig up some old ideas...

Skrith 'Taser Harpoon' support weapon, designated SK-5 Shockrocket: Seen in uses as both a mid-range sniper weapon and for close up mutilation, the shockrocket fires a spin-stabilised harpoon at hypersonic speeds. The firing mechanism is based on the skrith energy weapons, as the harpoon contains enough electrical charge to make even a glancing hit to infantry lethal. The weapon is also a threat to vehicles, as the discharge has been known to cause an EMP effect, immobilising the vehicle for a moment until their systems can be reset (this moment is usually too long for striken aircraft). The main downside to this weapon is the reloading time, since the harpoons need to be hand loaded to prevent the energy systems from discharging prematurely. One last thing to note is that some Skrith warriors appears to have overcharged their weapons, making the charged harpoon a deadly cutting/drilling weapon in close combat
[tech details] Think of this as a mixup of HL2's crossbow and a huge rock drill. Kills infantry instantly (unless armoured to hell and back) and immobilises vehicles. If anyone gets in close, you can rev up the harpoon and spear their ass![/tech]

Skrith Submuntion weapon, designated the SK-4 Assault Carbine: Skrith science has reverse engineered both their own energy weapons and captured human technology into this multipurpose light support weapon. The gun itself is made up of a twin-linked magnetic rail system, similar to our own railguns but with a smaller calibre chamber. The primary rail fires solid-state disc ammuntion at supersonic speeds, usings a mounted laser cutter to strip the dics from a cylinder of metal. The Skrith adaptions mean that bursts of fire can be used, as opposed to the charge-up nature of our own rail system. The secondary chamber can fire a variety of muntions at subsonic speeds, although no noticeable arc is seen in the muntion's flight. Recovered ammunition for this launcher includes: Skrith standard plasma grenades; an electromagnetic rocket round which attaches to vehicle hulls and fires a thruster, forcing the vehicle into uncontrollable maneuvers; lastly a pair of 'glass rounds' made from an alien ceramic. The first fires and detonates like our own flak shells (with a smaller, more focussed cone of glass shards), the second will bounce at 90 degrees from the surface it hits and explode approx. 1 second later, for use against infantry behind cover and in foxholes.
[tech details] The Skrith answer to the M50. Fires in burst or single fire only for primary, while the secondary is basically a microrocket launcher (which could probably be a seperate support weapon). The thruster round will throw a scorp or manta around (as well as aircraft), but would have trouble shifting anything bigger without multiple hits. The glass rounds are cannister and bouncing betty type rounds designed to mow down infantry. The cannister round is a focussed flak grenade that explodes around 2 metres from target (as though you had walked over and pulled the trigger yourself ), the betty round will bounce at 90 degrees from the surface it hits, and detonate towards that surface.[/tech]

My Skrith CT Bow was never energy-based to begin with. Who gave you that idea, UP? Check back at it if you really wanna be sure.

These names are out of a game I've made with Gamemaker... not finished and its pretty crap xD

And a laser beam making people's head cook?

Radiation grenades might be fun, but remember that some unstable molecules take thousands of years to become stable, kind of uneffective in a tournament.

We could just take a look at the 4f & 5f chemicals in the periodic table to find the one with decently fast process. Thorium would be a bad choice, it takes the core a few billion years to get stable.

For the most part a RAD grenade would work too similarly to the upcoming gas grenade you guys have probably seen screenshots of. But hey, whatever. Not my mod.

I'm still trying to come up with something unique for a skrith grenade. My brother is really fond of the idea of a lightning-grenade that works similarly to the lightning gun, though that would be more of a Human weapon than Skrith.

Gravity bomb? Primary sends out a blastwave, knocking all players and some vehicles airbourne (straight up rather than just away from the explosion). Secondary increases gravity in the blast radius, pinning players and vehicles to the floor for a second or two

That is impossible, if a grenade explodes, the shock will go in all directions equally, kicking you into the same direction as the shock is going.

And the secondary fire sounds like a crappy version of my black hole generator idea.

Well, as always, this Skrith thread has kind of gotten off topic, as grenades aren't really a heavy weapon, more like a support weapon...

I think the whole point of the Skirth heavy weapons threads is pointless becuase the devs have mentioned much to my dismay many a time that the skirth almost never rely on ranged and or power weapons. They love meele fighting much more. And cause of that, and the fact that we haven't seen ANY new Skirth guns made in such a long time from the devs i doubt they will make many more (aside from that Skirth bow), even then, they'd be really light, so that the Skrith warriors can still move fast and in for the kill.

So namely the whole topic should be closed unless word from the devs says that the Skirth DO use power weapons for killing.

If anyone (besides the Terrans) would use heavy weapons to kill in the Archon universe, it would be the Cryons. For the devs have said that the Cryons (from what i remember) would construct there tech/organic weapons for many different military situations. So they are most logical choice for arming themselves with a vast assortment of weapons like the Terrans do.

Well put, I have held my tong in the past but now is the time, the skirth are way harder to fight and kill if the only time you see them is when you roll over dead. They, from my understanding, fight only they know they can win, and win with zero shots fired.

And if they think they can't win, they send in the Krao, and if they die (which they most likly would) they send in the Cryon.
