So your saying that there should be an option in BW that randomly spawns medpacks and make em damageble? So no one really knows whether they would pick up a fake or real medpack ?

Now that would be more or less a funtator inside BW .
Could be fun like the idea of every person running around in panic and the tension of would it be real or not?

Funtator, hmm... The fake medpack could be a jack in the box type setup that contains a nasty surprise, like a venomous snake, a pop-out circular saw/capacitor/whatever, one of the smaller invasion monsters etc. etc. (or even a Skrith warrior in full battle dress, heh ). Or at the very least it should explode or something, just a dummy pack would be kinda lame, especially in botmatch.

I seem to recall once having a mutator that randomly made some health vials and medpacks poisonous.

That's the same one that made them give more health if you let them sit before you picked them up. Aged to Perfection, I believe.

Yes, awesome mut, one of my regulars. And it's got decent bot support, too. Generally they avoid the poisonous vials rather well, but sometimes they mess up get some 'bad juice'. Very funny and realistic.

Meh. Just put a land mine under a regular medpack. Far more amusing.

Yeah, except half the time the bots avoid mined sections of the map because they don't want to die.

mine in front a jump lift or something and the bots will avoid it for a while, not forever mind you.

I think the fake medkits could actually do one damage for picking them up.

The idea is interesting, but couldn't you just put a mine next to a real medpack? All the medpacks spawn in the same places over and over again so it'd be kinda easy to tell they're fake... Just seems kinda ineffective.

A valid point. That's why I would like to see a "weapon" that is a medic device. Fire gives a teammate a healing injection (so you have to get close), altfire deploys a real medpack (30 seconds to one minute recharge time between two medpacks). That way you can heal yourself or leave it at key locations so your teammates can survive there longer. And of course you could lay a mine and place the medipack on top of it. If there are no fake medipacks, only real ones, players won't avoid suspicous ones all the time. You'll have to guess if the pack that lies around where it shouldn't be is a support pack or a trap. If you're lucky, you gain health, if you guessed wrong, you're screwed...
