black-hole gun though.. still unsure about it.. maybe a map with a black hole.. press button, and if not inside a bunker before time, then everyone is sucked up.. (that was poor)

How about a realistic nuclear explosion (EMP, flash, shockwave, different zones of damage with people either being skeletonized, gibbed, or knocked away, residual radiation damage, big mushroom cloud etc.) instead of a black hole? That would be a slightly more realistic superweapon, though sure, black holes are definitely cool too.

There is nothing cooler than the concept of black holes.

But a nuke explosion does sound like a good idea, maybe not for small maps though.

A nuke or mini nuke strike (no pussy Redemmer) would be cool. Also i think a Artillary stirke would be cool, it would only replace the target painter (and it would'n't work in doors.)

yeah i love the dollbomb from u4e. i played arena with just the dollbomb on DM-KillBilllyBarn with 4 bots, man was that crazy fun.

Yeah the dollbomb has great sounds and visuals, but not really complex damage afaik. No EMP burst, different damage zones, residual radiation... So there's plenty of room for improvement.

Btw, just had another half assed gametype idea! A kind of reverse CTF with suitcase nukes, where the objective is to deliver a mini nuke to the enemy base and blow it up real good. Might work best on converted ONS maps, or large (V)CTF maps. A possible twist could be that the nuke slowly poisons the carrier with radiation, so speed, timing, and teamwork are of the essence. Also, if damaged beyond a certain point the nuke will blow up (in the enemy's face).

I think this WOULD be best on ONS maps. You could even make the "nuke" a semi-large, very slow, unarmed vehicle carrying the warhead. It's vulnerable, so you have to escort it, but if it gets destroyed, it would take out it's escorts with it.

And nearby enemies if they are too close.

that'd be pretty to see. sort of like instant de-rez but with an explosion.
