Here's a very, very, VERY KER-RAZY idea for a BW Superweapon. Take note: I made this weapon with the thought of it being released much, much later (like BW version 3.0 perhaps...), so just read it and n'joy!

DESCRIPTION:
A "SUPERWEAPON" in every sense of the word - the HVC667-MPDT (Man-Portable, Deployable Turret), also known as "the Puntgun". Developed, created and manufactured by H-Tech Industries, it was kept hidden from the Government for years until the Skrith had begun its invasion. Very little is known about this weapon, save of the fact that only the strongest (Gene-Boosted) Terrans are capable of utilizing this weapon to the fullest without having to be deployed beforehand - its mere recoil can kill any normal human being. However, for military-standard grunts, H-Tech incorporated its tactical deployment system to help them mow down the hordes of Krao who tried to overwhelm their bases.

The Puntgun has a 4-Gauge, revolving Quad-Barrel design, capable of firing a few types of ammunition either by letting them loose in one, tremendous blast through all 4 chambers (also known as "Full-Blast" mode) or by activating the Puntgun's "revolving cannon"-mode (also known as "Roulette" mode), turning it into a quasi-rapid-fire gun.

Ammo Capacity:
Players are able to carry 16 of each type of ammo, 8 of which can be immediately loaded into the Puntgun. However, players have to physically remove any remaining ammo inside the Puntgun if they want to load a different type of ammo, thus making reloading a hassle. A well-versed soldier may be able to fully reload a Puntgun in less than 6 seconds.

Ammo Types:
This weapon is able to equip 3 types of ammo:

1. "Hornet's Nest" SFR (Searing Flechette Rounds) - Specially-processed Talozium crystals, made by H-Tech R&D specifically for the Puntgun. Having a wide spread and decent, medium range, these rounds are broken down into smaller fragments of sharp Talozium that can easily pierce armor and penetrate and sear flesh. Best used for pinning down and/or taking out large amounts of opponents.

DAMAGE: 5-10 per shard (depending on body-part hit), 8-10 shards per round.

2. Brenneke Shells - Special-issue ammunition requested by the military to be incorporated into the Puntgun's arsenal. These shells are highly-accurate, but cause tremendous recoil (especially on "Full-Blast"). Best used to immobilize heavily-armored vehicles.

DAMAGE: 200 per shell to players on-foot and 75 to vehicles (upon direct-impact).

3. "Firestorm" VVMS (Variable-Velocity Mortar Shells) - Once used by the para-military as a flare... Legend has it that an advance company, who were being outnumbered by the Krao, tried to send a distress signal by firing a once-called VVF (Variable-Velocity Flare). However, due to their haste, they had accidentaly set the flare on low-velocity as well as a narrow angle. But as luck would have it, this would, in turn, drive the Krao horde away in a blaze of fire. Nowadays, these Mortar Shells have been incorporated into the Puntgun's arsenal and are capable of reigning down a fiery chaos upon enemies, as well as creating "Firewalls" that may block the advancement of enemy troops.

DAMAGE: 100 per shell (upon direct impact to players on-foot), 10 scorch-damage.

DEPLOYMENT/SPECIAL FIRE:
As it is said earlier, the Puntgun cannot be used by normal Terrans without being deployed first. H-Tech has developed the Puntgun's tactical deployment system to hasten the process (as opposed to assembling the mount manually) as well as improving its accuracy for non-Gene-Boosted army personel. Once fully-deployed, the Puntgun's only draw back is its obvious lack of mobility. To remedy this, it is highly-recommended to deploy the weapon on a stable-ground vehicle which supports such deployment (like a TECHNICAL) rather than a hovercraft (MANTA).

Primary Fire:
Utilizes the Puntgun's "Full-Blast" mode. It fires the ammo in all four of its chambers into an incredible single blast, generating immense chaos and recoil. Afterwards, it takes a few precious seconds for the weapon to rearm itself with the remaining ammo inside its clip.

Secondary Fire:
Activates the Puntgun's "Roulette" mode. It fires the ammo at the top-most barrel, after which it revolves gattling gun-style. However, unlike a regular gattling gun, the Puntgun's barrels revolve quite slowly - only 1 shot can be produced per .6 seconds; but because of this, it has the advantage of never overheating, making it the perfect choice for suppressing enemy fire for a good 6-7 seconds. It has far lesser chaos and recoil than "Full-Blast" mode.

(Take Note: When undeployed, both Primary and Secondary Fire become melee attacks capable of knocking down enemies with the blunt end of the Puntgun.)

EDITS:
-Nerfed down Brenneke Shells' damage from 500 to 200 (to players) and 75 (to vehicles).

I like this idea, sounds pretty fun, but I'm not sure about the Brenneke shells. If they do 500 damage and you can shoot four of them off in fairly rabid succession, it'd be a bit overpowered, methinks.

I don't like this idea, sounds fun for a bonus pack weapon when I'm in the mood for mindless shooting, but keep this one out of the main BW story mkay?

Puntgun? Man and i thought the bopgun was a bad name. i don't like it either.

For super weapons i'd like to see the old holywood "briefcase nuke" or some new WMD om tje BW universe hidden in a briefcase

Actually, a Punt gun is a real type of shotgun that was mounted on Punts (small hunting boats). Yeah, it sounds silly, but that's where I got it.

Anyways... I'll find a way to nerf down most of its cheapness somehow... just not now. That's what "comments and suggestions" are for, right...?

I don't really see anything wrong with it's powerfulness apart from 500 damage to both infantry and vehicles, maybe make it to 200 infantry and 75 to vehicles? Even that is pretty fatal to a Goliath in fair shape.

Oh, and BTW, Brenneke shells don't explode on impact, so they don't have splash-damage.

You guys can also suggest new nicknames for this weapon, if "Puntgun" sounds too silly for you.

i think the brenneke shells could go down to 100 or 150 damage, a player starts at 100hp so it'll kill in one hit unless they grab some health vials or a keg(or w/e the bw equivilant is) not to mention armor, so normally you'll only go up to 200hp max and 100 armor but that doesnt happen that often, 4 shots at 100 damage is still 400, which really is still pretty good

where does the name punt gun come from? the immense recoil?

Oy vey... I already explained where I got the name earlier, just back-track a few posts up there...

And as for the Brenneke Shells, well, Bjossi's suggestion of 200 damage ain't such an overpowering deal 'cuz, like I said earlier, the shells don't explode upon impact, so there's no splash-damage dealt. You can't just fire a Brenneke near the feet of opponents... Plus, it's Non-Hitscan, so players may still be able to dodge them. Y'see, it's really made for tank-busting that way.

My idea can't be overpowered when 500 dealt to vehicles was the original idea, you could take out a leviathan pretty quickly that way.

Well, since nobody's suggested alternative nicknames yet, I'mma stick to it.

Also, I've come up with the story of this Superweapon's rise and fall:

Since the Puntgun was so effective against the swarms of Krao and the initial Skrith invasion, the military decided to make it a staple in their tech-hardware. However, little did they know that they only caught the Skrith unprepared (the Skrith were wearing Plasma-proof armor and they weren't expecting Ballistic Weapons), and they started to utilize their best asset: STEALTH.

As the time passed, the Puntgun became less and less effective against the Skrith (they would simply slit the throats of the superweapon-wielders before they can even deploy it properly). Soon afterwards, it became entirely useless in the battlefront.

Since then, the Puntgun has been relegated to a meager base-defense system, most frequently seen atop of the outer walls of any given Terran encampment.

What about naming it the 'tankbuster'?

tankbuster although a cool name is...well overused, besides the gatling gun on the A-10 fighters is nicknamed the burp cannon, i still lean in favor of punt gun.

Panzerbuster then?

(panzer = tank in German)

Hmmm... not bad, that name... but I'm still open to others.

Here's my (sorta weird) word-association analysis:

Hammer - a tool used for pounding...

Warhammer - a massive weapon used in the medieval ages, capable of pounding armor into scrap metal and smashing people into bloody pulps.

The HVC667-MPDT is also capable of doing such things, in a much more modern way...

So...

Warhammer = HVC667-MPDT

Felhammer - a cool-sounding name for a Superweapon

But...

Runestorm - also a cool-sounding name, given the fact it belongs to the modding team of BW

So...

"Felhammer" or "Runestorm"?

Well, it sounds more like an uber-legendary weapon that came from an uber-legendary lineage of an uber-legendary clan named... well... 'Felhammer'.

Runefel Stormhammer just sounds like an uber-legendary specific person (as in singular and unique in existence).

In any case, I'll just let RS decide for this superweapon's name among the three possible choices:

-Panzerbuster
-Felhammer
-Runestorm

Hopefully they can be suffixed with '-cannon' or '-turret', but meh, that's up to them.

But shouldn't you at least wait if RS want to have anything to do with this weapon?
