Hello,

I have a new idea for Ballistic Weapons, this weapon is a Radio for calls artillery or Air Force for strike in a point.
a Military Radio | a Military Phone

This weapon have two options :

- Artillery Strike : We hear two cannons shoot and after a long moment explosions in a very big central point.
(The Artillery have a very powerful attack and a big impacts zone)
Artillery animation

- Call Air Force : We hear and see three aircraft in the sky on "V" position and after a little moment many explosion.
(Aircraft have power but Artillery is biggest. But the Air Force can bombard on a long distance)
Air Force animation | The "V" Position

Good and No Good:
Artillerie : Long action || Very powerful || Large impact zone || Medium range
Air Force : Fast action || Have Power || Short impact zone || Very long range

I like this idea. Wasn't something similar to this used in one of those WWII games? I don't think I ever used it, but I thought it was kind of a cooler idea than a laser doing the same thing.

Yeah it was in BF1942 then they sorta got rid of it BF2 (cause only the commander can use it).

It's a very good idea, but calls for Artillery Strikes/Air-force Bombardments should be accompanied by the exact coordinates of the target. So, unless the player is willing to speak out the coordinates right down to the decimal, s/he should be readily-equiped with Target-Pointers and/or Signal Flares.

But then again, that's just me with the realistic tech-talk... >_<

I thought has a rifle/pistol which allows launched flare/rocket/arrow/bullet with a emetor, then it will remain called the desired support. Or a glove with a laser.

And, I am agree with idea for a Target-Pointers or Signal Flares.

I had an idea similar to this not too long ago, actually (I just never posted it).

Make a set of binoculars or goggles of some sort, and they could be used to show various vision modes, like perhaps thermal vision and maybe something that makes explosives more visible, but as a trade-off it makes other things harder to see. Also it might be able to be used without zoom and maybe up to 6x zoom (or less), and it could be used to mark where to strike for long ranged support, either by using something like a range finder, or perhaps a laser.

Think of it as a sort of multipurpose vision enhancing thingy with lots of uses. ;)

Yeah binoculars would work very well. Hey is the B key used in UT2k4? If it isn't then you could bring up the binoculars with it Call of Duty United Offensive style! And this would be very good cause then you don't need to worry about having it as a pickup, but then again you'd have it in any fight, so i'm guessing it would have to be an check off option for every BW mut/ gametype (but that isn't too much trouble... or is it?).

Binoculars is good !

And i have a new idea : A LCD screen and on it, we see the map at the top and after we can select a target for the strike. But I don't know if we can use cursor for select is possible. If is possible we can like Battlefield 2, select Artillery or Air Force and call a special strike. (ex: IEM for Artillery or Naplam for Air Force)

LCD screen would be pretty cool. Could be great for just getting an overview of whats going on in large scale battles, if they decide to do that some time after 2.0.

I'm glad everyone likes my binocular idea, I'll make a thread about it.

I think it could work without too much coding, just pretty much take the code similar to the camera's code, only basically attaching the camera X units above the player, looking straight down.

Now, if it would look right on every map, I don't know. It'd have to be at a distance that'd not go out of the world and stuff...

Hmm... now that I think about it, if the Terran's have Artillery/Air-force support, the Skrith should have Cryon/Krao support. Not a bad trade-off, though there would be some balancing act to do...
