this week it's all about the explosions

Voteing is the same as before, you may vote for 3 weapons (but you may not vote for one 3 times) max. voteing increases the score of that 1 weapon, voteing for a weapon not on the list will add it with one vote.

Current Tally
Devastator (1) (Remake of weapon from "Duke Nukem 3D")
Plasma Grenades (3) (remake of the weapon from the "Timesplitters" seris as well as "Halo")
Milkor MGL (3)
Lighter Rocketlauncher (6)
Impact deadnation nade (1)
Lightwieght Anti tank weapon (1)
Thermo detonator (1)
TNT stick's (1)
weapons that might not be simple
Lotier grenade (1)
Concussion grenade (1)
Emp grenade (1)
Sticky Shape-Charge (1)
sonic nade
Weapon desriptions
because this week seems like it won't be based on "Real" weapons i'm puting this here
Devastator:A real cool weapon that rapid fires a whole lot of small missles that home in on there target
Plasma Grenades: Grenades that stick to the first thing they hit, then go boom a bit latter
Milkor:A real weapon, can fire naplam toxin and frag shells (as well as shells based on any grenade types that are added) and be set to timer or impact deadnation

I rather want something not taken from other games, anyone remember when I suggested a lighter version of a rocket launcher so it is more in par with the other weapons?

a grenade which explodes, it explode kinda like a growing green bubble, on contact with enemy or in 10 seconds, I'd call it the Sonic Detonator, or sonic grenade

I'm not really thinking I'd like something from other games, but oh well....

I have my own take on sticky grenades.

First off, they aren't really ggrenades, but more like explosives with a configurable timer and/or remote det.

For the placement of the explosives, it would be much like the FP9, only it would stick to stuff (including people).

As for the explosion, I was thinking instead of a large area explosion, it would be a shapecharge with a more directed blast, although if you were within a meter of it you'd still take damage, if it was stuck to you it'd be almost always fatal, regardless of whether or not the blast is angled directly at the you.

Due to the nature of the blast, it'd be great against armored targets like vehicles, much like real shapecharges.

Call it something like Sticky Shape-Charge or something on the polls for simplicity.

Hm... I don't think this would really classify as a simple weapon now that I look at it...

Also throw in a vote for me for Bjossi's idea.

Lotier grenade. Smart Grenade that homes on enemy and zips alog at a slow speed. If the target is lost it will stop and hover for up to a minute. If a foe comes into sight it homes again and tries to get close enough to go bang. Alt fire causes the nade to hover in place for a minute or so only going off when a foe comes near it.

Weapon always hovers at face high when let lose and you only get one per pick up due to thier sheer nastyiness.

really nice idea meatboy.

Also put me down for the Plasma Grenades and lighter rocket launcher.

unfortutly it is not simple

Thats the problem with explosives... I don't really know how you'd be able to make a simple explosive weapon that isn't so similar to another one that it'd be pretty much obsolete, other than a lighter rocket launcher or something...

True but like xavious says most simple things that go bang are well coverd. You have
A smart mine a burning puddle, a bang nade and a nifty det pack, and soon a toxic cloud. All the simple stuff is covered . You could add a claymore but the mine has that abilty covered. SO any other nades will have to be more complex.

tell me how the EMP grenade could be made with things alreddy in unreal 2.5 and bcore?

a lighter rocket launcher

Light(er) rocket laucher

Milkor multi ammo GL

Neutron grenade*

*Large stick type hand grenade. Special/reload = timer. Prim = throw, small nuclear explosion w/ new pretty fx and various damage types depending on proximity.

Alt = throw, grenade sticks to whatever surface it comes into contact with, including vehicles and players. Creates small radiation field (w/ glow fx etc.) that drains HP pretty fast. Lasts for about 5-7 secs. Can be used for capturing occupied enemy vehicles (vehicles take less radiation damage than players, occupants must either bail out or die), for temporarily blocking off certain areas (corridors and such), or simply for fun. Powerful weapon, so only 1-2 per pickup. Or maybe superweapon, depends on damage radius etc.

It would take 5 minutes at most to code the damage appropiately for EMP standards, not a simple weapon in that meaning but simple to do.

Did you add my Sonic Grenade thing to the list (with explanation?)

Concussion grendae: causes a flashbang type explosion and both blinds you and makes you hear only a huge ringing noise for about 10 seconds, if you were both near it and looking at it directly. Other than that, the farther from the thing, the softer the ringing is. If you can't see it, you ain't blind, but partially blinded if you saw it in the corner of your eyes, like a real flashbang type explosion.

shouldn't it be called a flashbang grenade then?

That isn't a concussion grenade but a flashbang, as UP said.

A concussion grenade is something out of Star Wars

No-one seems to have mentioned cluster weaponry: from the Worms-styled cluster grenades, to various 'Drunk' missile launchers.
My personal fave is mentioned in the Aliens technical manual - Beehive rockets, which fire like ordinary rockets and spilt into 100 or so explosive shards, like a flying explosive claymore, or todays flechette rockets. I figure a redeemer missile detonating into a cone of explosive flak shards would be fitting, if processor hungry.
Back on topic tho, I think a lighter rocker launcher would be sweet, like a one shot LAW launcher for hitting light vehicles/bastards with armour vests.

don't you mean TOW missile?

Huh, coulda swore concussion grenades were ones that gave you a loud ringing noise and added the feature of the flashbang. Still, you'd have to code it to make bots actually blind and can only see in a 2 UU distance or something for a while, and they shoot blindly at anything, except the floor and roof.

That's pretty harsh there UP, you should be careful with the words you use.
The word concussion can relate to what he described, the word flashbang is simply more used.

Either way, it would be a good idea, right? Make some more realistic warfare to have these types of grenades to blind you and make you lose hearing for a while.

Don't mind UP, he's a troublemaker by nature. :)

I like the idea of losing hearness more than vision, like a sonic grenade that makes a very loud bang but along with the explosion sound comes inaudible infra-red sound that temporarily damages hearness, making you hear washed out sounds along with a buzzing sound; the usual stuff like if you fire a Magnum without "earphones".

Plasma Grenades
Thermo detonator (A nade that detonates when an enemy is near (reacts to body heat )sort of a mine in combination with the incendairy grenade.
TNT stick's (you know those old ones from the movies)

Okay, thank you UP. 8)

I think we can be good friends in the future. Especially after I find a way to get my internet working perfect and so the game servers stop throwing me out because they detect I have Norton Anti-Gameplaying software (really, it supposed to be anti-virus software, but it called Windows itself a virus!!! And it constantly kicks me out of severs for reason of 'high security risk' and won't let me turn it off... Norton's a virus of its own...).

So, would the concussion/flashbang grenade be a good idea?

Your welcome OCA.

The Flashbang as it is called would be good. I'd never use it though.
