Another crazy weapon idea... I'll try to keep it as short as possible...

DESCRIPTION:
A Skrith "Tactical Compound Bow" - A weapon best-suited for outdoor and stealth combat.

Primary Fire:
Shoots the arrow/s currently on the wielder's hand. Holding it down increases the arrows' velocity and accuracy. Iron-sights gives the wielder instant-accuracy, enabling him/her to fire arrows in a arc, without having to hold down the primary fire for accuracy. Once a single arrow or volley of arrows are fired, the wielder must press the Reload key to re-equip him/her with new ones...

Reload:
As mentioned above, re-equips the wielder with fresh arrows from the inventory to his/her person. Take note that wielder can load up to 4 arrows to fire, and once s/he presses Reload again while there are 4 arrows in his/her hand, it goes back to 1.

Arrow Capacity:
The wielder can only have 40 arrows in his/her inventory, and each Ammo Pack adds 8 arrows.

Fire-Modes:
This weapon has MULTIPLE fire-modes. See page 3 for details.

Secondary Fire:
Swings the bow around, enabling it to slash nearby targets with its attached blades.

SPECIAL FIRE:
Orients how you hold the bow: Horizontally, Vertically, or Diagonally. This affects how you fire multiple arrows.

I like the idea of a bow, but I'm not sure how it'd fit in Ballistic Weapons.

toss out the concept of longbow completely and make it a compound bow...those are the modern bows of today, to take it further one could model the bow used by whistler in blade 3

I'll take any Compound Bow design made by RW... as long as it suits BW.

Hey as long as it's a cool weapon, who cares? As I mentioned before, U4E for UT99 had an absolutely WICKED SICK long/compound bow with multiple ammo types: regular, explosive, plasma, incendiary, poison & nuclear. It may sound like overkill, but it actually worked really well...

Oh and speaking of nuclear... I may actually sponsor a triple (?) firemode radiation grenade at some point. You have been warned!

I think a tactical bow more like this would fit BW better than a longbow. This is the type I'm aiming for sponsoring.

Heck, we're going to have loads of weapons if we all have the money to back up the things we want to see made.

Anyhow. . .I think a longbow wouldn't be a BAD idea. . .might be kinda hard to work into the military atmosphere of BW, you can't just explain aay everything non-military as some kind of random collectors item scrounged up for battlefield use.

Here's an idea, though. Make it a skrith weapon designed for operation inside energy dampening fields the humans set up to prevent use of skrith energy weapons.

let's get back to the longbow thing.

personally i think a longbow wouldn't fit in BW, but anyways the crossbow will. why? because its easy to aim (like a rifle), the shots are more deadly (the arrows are faster and have more mass), and if anyone has played Half-Life 2 then he will understand what i mean if i say the crossbow fits more to the modern world then a longbow.

so actually Sgt. Kelly's idea is the best i think. So let the scoped crossbow come.

Still, I like it. It's an awesome looking crossbow. Much better than that strange uranium-rod tosser in Half Life 2 (IMO)....

It's not uranium. It's chunks of rebar. Steel bards made to reinforce concrete that they're embedded in. They glow becasue the xbow runs an electrical charge through it, heating it up.

Whatever it was, it was glowing and looked very unsafe :-/

What makes you think Uranium glows? As far as my knowledge goes, there are Beta, Alpha, Neutron and Proton-radiation, and none of those make stuff glow afaik.
