If you read the description, you may recall the G5 RPG being modeled on an older one, but adding the computer guidence, mortar rack etc? This is what happens when you decide to triple the power of a single missile...

History
Wot Ya Packin' is back, with yet another hair-brained yet surprsingly effective weapon, the MRT91 Rocket Cannon. This brutal weapon fires a single, devastaing warhead, with 3 times the power of the UTC G5 rocket mortar, and as you can guess about 3 times the size, meaning it must be reloaded after every shot and little ammo can be carried.

Unlike the G5, the MRT91 lacks addtional guideance systems, yet prescion isn't needed with this thing with its humoungous blast radius, crippling tanks and ripping lighter vehicles apart. It does however, have a sight like the G5.

It also has the ability to radio-detonate and also using the same system be remote-piloted to its target using what resembles a game console directional pad on the side of the cannon, as well as a camera that takes over the sight when the rocket is being piloted.

Favoured by pirates and B.Y.O.G (Bring Your Own Gun) miilita groups, this weapon is great for surpise assaults on slow aircraft and ground vehicles, and like it's predessor it has been used in robberies, though replace armoured vans with armoured trains and docked cargo spaceships, destroying locked bulkheads that protected the valuable cargo, and like the MRT6 it give more bang for your buck, but it will never fail on you, it will do what it's meant to do.


Controls
Pri Fire: fire rocket
Alt: fire rocket with remote-control activated
Ironsight: puts the scope to the eye, and either fire mode can be used from here. Using alt fire here decreases the time between firing and controlling the rocket, as you can see where you are going imideatly.
Special: detonate missile regardless of its fire mode.
While remote controlled: fire increases speed and alt fire shuts the engine off, turning it into a bomb or slowing the velocity of the missile.
Special 2: puts a missile on the ground or attaches to a surface, which can then be remote-detonated. Like other plantables, it can be stolen, but otherwise functions like a huge FP9 demo charge. Its engine can also be ignited and it can launch itself if it is standing up. Could be used to confuse enemies by launching planted missiles from many locations.

Design notes
There are four ways you can do this.

Look at Halo's RL and give it a single firing tube, although it's still one piece, the barrels won't come away when it's time to reload, just a new warhead shoved in the barrel.

Carry it like the Minigun, with foregrip and rear grip, and it pulls in a new shot from a magazine when you hit reload rather like the VS RL from Lost Planet.

Or have it both ways - have the rack of missiles that act as one 5-round clip that needs to be cocked after every shot, and have it mounted on your shoulder. I think this way would be best as it would allow for a sight and the d-pad for remote piloting.

The Arc Cannon from SW: Battlefront, which was shoulder mounted, but you had to reload it after every shot by shoving a new warhead in the end. Note, I'm talking about the RL that the Clones/ Stormtroopers used, the Rebles had a slightly different one and teh CIS's was plain ugly.

So is this kinda between G5 and Redeemer?

Yes in a way, the G5 relys on precison strikes, the Redeemer uses brute force.

Sounds cool, but a little too advanced for some sort of Outworld favored weapon; namely the tactical readouts and stuff.

But still, it sounds pretty cool.

My only gripe is that this thing is apparently both high explosive and armor piercing. I prefer those roles to be separate in my rocket launchers. One for blasting large groups, one for punching through a single target. I'd rather this idea turn into the latter - a high-velocity kinetic energy missile.

Yeah alright, no readout, although remote control isn't exactly a new idea, I think it could be done even with limited resources (nicking parts from fighter ships etc.)


Not so much as armour-piercing, as it just knocks the armour off with its brute strength - the G5 is more the more precise rocket launcher of the pair, as it has the locking and laser guided modes, as well as more agile rockets as they are only a 3rd of the size of the MRT91 rockets.

Remote control makes sense. I like the sound of this. I'd like to see more rocket launches (kinda, really makes my playstyle hard as hell with just one of them ) get made some time.

Yeah i'm like that as well. When you need a lot of hurt in one place right now, nothing beats a rocket.

Shrug. I'd rather think of the G5 as the high-explosive one, that has guidance to make up for it's imprecise nature as an area-effect weapon, and an armor-piercing rocket launcher that lacks guidance and requires precise aim, but has a very high-velocity rocket compared to the G5 to make up for it.

Really? I'd think that the shaped-charge rocket would have the extra guidance to make up for its lack of blast, but the high-explosive one would be dumbfire with a massive blast, because it doesn't really need to be aimed as well.

This sounds awesome!!! I don't know how often I would use it, but another rocket is always a good thing.

It depends on the map. It would beat the G5 indoors, but the G5 is more diverse when fighting vehicles, as you can kill a Raptor easier with it than you could with the MRT91, either by locking or using the laser guide.

Shrug. I guess I'm more into weapons with exaggerated weaknesses than weapons with none.

It does have a weakness: only one shot before it must be reloaded or cocked again. The G5 has two mortars in it, thus can target two enemies one right after the other.
