I was thinking about having an RPG that has the V1.7 secondary (mortar that looks like a cruise missile strike)
but creates a nuclear explosion at the area, with a mushroom cloud, maybe radiation, a flash like the one from the AM49 with a longer range, an EMP that disables all guns for a couple seconds (and AR camera permanently), and a huge blast wave the same as the RPG blast wave but ten times larger. You could also have dust around the explosion that lasts a long time.

In my opinion, sounds great!

Ditch the flash and the EM side-effect, then it might be an ok idea.

An EM pulse can't disable weapons by the way, at least not ones who don't rely on computer chips or electronical gadgets.

weapons will be toasted in the bang anyways.

Sounds like a replacement for the redeemer, and i like it.

Reminds me of the nuke from Starship Troopers...this could work.

I was playing with my friend and blasting Santa's face off with G5's in the map DM-MPC-CHRISTMAS and guiding the

I think that it should be more of a missile launcher though your able to carry it.

I like the idea unless the bots decide its fun to just play tag with he missiles then it would get annoying

Thats why i think having the alt fire like the current G5 would be better, though since its a nuke, i'd move slower and i think a missile launcher would be cooler.

I don't think it should be slow, it needs to be fast enough so atmosphere won't make it fly off course.

But make only one warhead fit in the chamber of the gun, and reloading needs to be very slow. Max ammo could be 2 or 3 warheads.

It should be one shot, due to the "destructive" nature of the blast...(evil laugh)

Well as I mentioned earlier, we could look at the nuke RPG from Star Ship Troopers, how that worked and see if it could work for BW.

But Ballistic Weapons dosen't, and the Redeemer is more a hand-held launch platform than an RPG launcher.

The Nuke RPG had to have a new missile shoved on the end of it and then fired, and the warheads where quite big too, so we could limit them to about 3 shots including the one already loaded.

This idea could eliminate the need to keep the old Super Weapons, and combine that with a couple of other ideas (such as my Signal Grenade), we could well have a BW version of the Redeemer, Target Painter and Ion Painter.

compared to the Warhead from Siege2004... man that explosion is the best I've ever seen! It is as big as a tower at Face3, and looks wicked with that toadstool cloud...

Yes... that explosion is just plain beautiful...

I have never seen the Siege explosion before, but I can certainly say that the redeemer explosion in UT2004 looks very cartoony and weak. Though the explosion sound is ok near the end.

This idea is made of win and awesome. But it still want my artillery strike.

Obviously you didn't see the Unreal4Ever Nuke, then. The Siege Nuke ist great, but you can clearly see that it is more a mushroom-model than a realistic explosion, while the U4E one consists entirely of particles. Plus, it has great light effects (blinds you for a sec, then the whole sky turns red and you see a particle-mushroom rise). You can see the explosion by either launching one of the walking dolls (better run if you hear a machanical "Mama, Mama") or by typing "summon u4e3.kaboom", which gives you a nuclear grenade launcher, a weapon that was used to test the effect. If RuneStorm would deliver something like that, or even improve it further, it will be a total jaw-dropper.
The third way you can experiece the U4E nuke is by collecting a special arrow for the bow, which brings me to an idea how a nuke could be handled for BW:

No need to create a special weapon, all we need is a special rocket for the G5 (so the redeemer gets replaced with a special ammo pickup). I think this would be the best way to reduce redundancy, I mean, why create a special weapon that has the same functionality as the G5, only with different ammo? Just leave it to the G5.
That way you could either direct the nuke with the laser or use the mortar function, just like you can with normal rockets. Since the G5's "switch firemode" button isn't used, it can be responsible for changing between normal rockets and the nuclear one. When the nuclear rocket is in the loading chamber (takes some time to put it in and out, for balance reasons), you can't lock on to vehicles or players, the mortar rocket will only fly to where you were aiming. A third function (press "change firemode" once, special rocket is loaded into the chamber, press it again, the special rocket's mode gets switched, press a third time, load normal rockets again) could be to prevent the nuke from detonating. Instead, it sticks to wherever it hits, polluting an entire area with radiation, until someone destroys it. When the nuke is set to detonate, the explosion is devastating enough, adding radiation to it (without a chance to remove the effect) would be too über, better to keep the explosion and the radiation separate.

No offense, but what is it with everyone just wanting to slap on another feature to the G5? It's already an awesome and powerful weapon, why tack on more stuff to an already perfected weapon?

I think this would be best as an individual, spcialized weapon, perhaps made as a disposable launcher, like an old panzerfaust, made with the intent that you would only need one shot with a nuke, and it'd help cheapen the already expensive process of making a miniaturized nuclear warhead.

It seems to me the rockets would have to be rather large, probably larger that G5 rockets, and would be extremely unwieldly and very difficult to put into a gun. This right here could be an explaination for limited ammo.
Also, rethinking my idea, if the shell was instead removeable, but built as part of the barrel, so it can slide off, that'd give you a bit more flexibility.

I thought a seperate rocket launcher for this nuke was the original plan. The G5 wouldn't make any sense, you need a much bigger launcher to fire a nuke of this power degree.
