Designed by Cryons to help protect against the incindiary Terran weapons, this strange device has proved to be just as much a defensive item as an offensive weapon. After a bit of light research in the Terran anatomy, they quickly realised those bloated sacks of water could work very nicely as ammo packs for their then prototype new weapon and went straight to work developing nanites that could extract the useful water for themselves on the field. And provide a nasty way to kill the Terrans in the process. Appearance: Grotesque looking thing, mechanical section in front and on top, organic part wraps around hand and bladders store the water on your back with a sickly tube leading from weapon to bladder. Primary Fire: A living, floating blob consisting of water and nanites shoots out of the "gun" and coats whatever it hits with a water-like substance. It effectively puts a target underwater, though the nanites enter the victim and damage him/her (incompatible species) without risk of drowning (nanites filter air and other airborne substances through). Jumping or attacking removes this membranous layer from you, though repeated assault from this makes it rather difficult to remove. Puts out fires and gives lightning gun users the same effect they would have if underwater. Also reduces the damage from heat based guns and probably affects lightning on you in some way too (dunno how though, maybe reduces damage?). Uses a lot of ammo. Alternate fire: Supercooled nanites swarm out of gun's "barrel", engulfing nearest living thing. They then collect condensed water from the target and also from the bodily fluids of the target and swarm back into the weapon. This damages the enemy and adds to your ammo. If used on someone coated with the Primary Fire's liquid, they are encased in a thin sheet of ice, greatly reducing movement, also reducing recoil a bit. If that person is hit with any other weapon, the sheet shatters, otherwise it melts in a few seconds. Uses no ammo. (Or should it? Two ammo types would make things difficult, but maybe it uses a bit of water to keep nanites coherent?) Special Function: Coats yourself in the same liquid from primary fire with the same effects. It still hurts you (incompatible species) as primary fire does. Uses ammo, a little less than primary fire. Reload: Draws in ambient moisture to add to its ammo supply. Vapours are drawn into metallic vents that open up, as well as membranous fin-like protrusions that collect humidity. This process is not very effective at gathering ammo unless in/near water. If you try to use primary fire or special function without enough ammo available, the nanites drain the water from you and hurt you in the process. |

Are you ker-razy!? Water + Lightning = A very steamy death... You know that, don't you? Anyways, I love this crazy idea... Maybe a water-siphoning reload technique would do good for this... uh... this... err...
I'mma call it the "Bladder Gun".

Bladder gun. I love it! Yeah I just thought about that [walking conductor], but I was sticking with the LG's theme, you can't target people in water, but I'll secretly change it back to damage reduction, there's more resistance, so there should be less damage, right? As for the siphoning in water, well, there is quite a bit more ambient moisture available in the water, right?
I think the nearer you are to a water source, the quicker the ammo recharges. |

Meh... methinks the undamagable water is just one of the few kinks the RS team has to work out. Logic dictates that when you're in a pool of water and suddenly lightning strikes, you go belly-up. This has to be fixed in 3.0... Anyhoo... Methinks it still should be a damage increase instead of reduction (for the lightning, that is). |

No, when in water you might be able to target the body of water, but only that. And the amount of water has to be relatively small if the electricity is to cause serious damage. Water only conducts electricity, it does not amplify it. The RS guys probably made you untargetable in water for a reason. Plus I'm sure quite a few people might agree that the LG doesn't need any more power. A way to exploit its weakness (water) more easily should be available. Being surrounded in water might make you a better conductor, but the electricity would be flowing not only through you, but in the water around you too. It is dispersed a bit more, the electricty would not be hitting you as directly as normal. |

I don't know how the lightning should be effected, but it should. And for balance reasons the lightning should be weaker against you. Maybe the water falls off and its targeted rather than you for a short time? |

This is very original. It also is a good example of who and what the Cryons are. I would love to see a concept model for this. |

Eh, I don't think I'll model this one out unless I got nothing else to do, too alien for me.
But thanks.
