Humans have a machinegun so why not the skrith?

Primary- fires plasma rounds extremely fast, ripping and destroying vehicles fast, also is the fastest healing weapon for vehicles.

Alt- This mode fires much larger skrith energy projectiles. It is a chargeable fire mode, in which you hold down alt fire, which pours energy into gun, then when you release alt fire, it shoots it like a mortar round/ G5. Namely it has a small arc over a long straight-flying distance. This is quite visible, with the energy leaving a huge trail of excess energy behind it (like the skrith rifle does but larger). When it hits an object, it splashes it with energy, most of it inflicts a combination of explosive and burning damage, while stray energy will fly off in random arcs toward the ground, burning if it lands on you or if you step in it. Upon firing, it will leave a bit of a recoil, then it'll settle down for you to charge it again. Don't expect to come out alive on a fully charged one. Also this does take up ammo fast.

ammo- same as the XMV-850

Story- this weapon is seen on the Skrava airplanes, which is known as A346 machinegun, the skrith and cyrons had planned about this before, but didn't need it because they thought it was going to be easy taking down humans, but a few years later, they went back and made new plans, taking the A346 and making modifications for making humans whimper in their wake.

I think having it have a drill and grenade abilities is going overboard.

This would have definitely been a remnant from the first Human/ Skrith War, and by my accounts the Skrith rifle is also one from the First war and it doesn't have loads of features (only the skrith sidearm does) then neither should a Rapid Energy Rifle.

My thoughts. It should have two firing modes. By fire modes i mean Prim and Alt fire. This gun is simplistic in its design, its made to one thing, kill.

I imagine this guns ammo is contain ala skrith rifle style, except its like 2 large skrith rifle ammo front to back on the top of the gun or they'd be around it. The gun itself is like an heavy version of what a skrith rifle would be. By heavy, it wouldn't have a backpack, it would be more of an ugly large skrith rifle.

(Primary Fire): This mode fires small trails of energy (like those from the skrith rifle but smaller), these travel quite fast and do very little damage (less then the minigun per bullet), but this fire fire mode spews them out at a speed thats just a tad faster than the Xk2, with little recoil or chaos, only problem is that it doesn't do much damage unless the guys being hit for a while by it constantly, its not an instant death like the current minigun. you'll move at the speed like you were carrying the G5 and a quarter (a quarter of another G5) . This mode consumes the energy (ammo) fast, though each projectile fired doesn't cost much ammo, after firing it for a while you lose a lot.

Ammo comes in large packs like 300 energy, though will be easily used up when holding primary fire down for a time.

For Alt fire the gun chooses it by you using the Weapons Fire Mode by choosing the two alt fires in it, whichever is selected is what happens in alt fire.

(Alt Fire #2): This mode fire a energy round 1/3 bigger than a normal skrith rifle round, when you hold alt fire, it launches these projectiles at a rate slower than the skrith rifle but not much slower. These are fired at a rate of fire also slower than the skrith rifle. Due to its size, it will of course inflict damage, but will also leave a tad bit of burning (primary doesn't leave burning) on you, so you'll suffer a 1 second (or less) of burning from 1 or 2 hits, more hits means longer the burns stay. Each projectile takes up more ammo than primary, say if primary was 1 than this would be 6.

so the gun's alt fire would be decided on which mode its on, either alt fire 1 or 2.

Due to the nature of the skrith being run and gun killers, i doubt they had time nor the sheer patience to bother with making the Rapid Energy Rifle deployable.

This gun doesn't have much to it, no special, no fire modes, no deploying, its a large beast of a rifle that the skrith created, and was intended to be used for slow support to aid advancing troops, though soon after the skrith realized that their armor absorbed the energy weapons of the humans, they quickly forgot about this gun.

Alright, now I love the look of that minigun in the pic, but it doesn't look very skrithy, it'd need a complete overhaul I'd say.

And I got a question, what do you mean by its ammo being the same as the XMV? Do you mean same ammo maxes, or same ammo itself?

Either way, I think that needs a bit of changing. An energy weapon with an ammo capacity the same as the XMV is just plain crazy. Plus, I'd assume it has different firing rates (namely, slower) compared to the human minigun, as I see those extreme firing rates as something that kinda makes the XMV unique compared to the other weapons, and with an ammo count as high as the XMV's, you'd have to crazy fast firing rates in order for the ammo to make sense. To have 900 round clips and a slower firing rate it'd be able to fire the entire match without needing a reload.

But... if you meant that a skrith weapon should have the same ammo type as a human weapon, I don't really think I even need to say anything about that.

We don't need a second minigun.

A new Skrith weapon would be great, but another rotary cannon would just cheapen the first one and make it less unique, even if this new one does fire weird plasma projectiles.

We only have one rotary cannon K, so this can be made if the Dev's like it or not.

It wouldn't be a rotary cannon type, well at least my version wouldn't be.

Rotary cannons are much too human.

This thing would more likely be a series of skrith rifles slapped together.

Although that minigun in that picture X posted looks too cool.

I second that we don't need another minigun. The skrith can by all means make a weapon tha fires very fast, but the 6-barreled spinning monster is and will always be a human creation only.

Somehow, i have a feeling that no one besides Storm_X has read my idea for a skrith rapid fire gun.

ok fine, it won't be a minigun, but more of a very fast firing plasma machine gun.

Exactly what i made my idea on, its like a rapid firing skrith rifle, and cause it fires the projectiles faster, its larger. Though the Skrith only know of Rifles, so its still called a rifle.

You're churning out these "Xtreme" weapon ideas of yours too quick and too soon. If you continue to do this, other weapon ideas (including other people's, not just yours) will become diluted and bland...

Nice Enter, but look at how the skrith rifle and sidearm look, and use that as a base to build on it to make it look more skrith like.

Also, i doubt the energy would be contained like that, check how RS did it with the skrith rifle, and that'll give you an idea as to how it should go, but i do like how it sticks out.

That little canister on the side, is that some sort of coolant for the gun? Might be an interesting bit of eye candy I'd say.

That concept art looks nifty, but I can't help but wonder if it will look similar to the skrith rifle in 1st person view.

I personally liked the version just prior to the newest one. I love the latest one, but the one without the blade looks more original and still very skrithy.
