I've got the idea straight from Quake 3 Arena actually... that BFG just pwns. It's a fast firing weapon, shooting out 4 projectiles out each second or so, with all an massive damage. This weapon isn't heavy, so you can move around like you would with a M50. The projectiles it fires rapidly move towards the point you aimed for, with a medium blast radius and insta-kill with a full hit. But... Start ammo is 20, and if you happen to find a ammo pack, you only get 5 ammo out of it. Max ammo is 30. So, a fast, deadly and strong weapon. But little ammo to use. For loadout people would love this weapon, and I think this will make unbalance in this gameplay. Something needs to be made to lock certain super weapons from loadout, but keeping them in the game... |

Sorry but I really don't like mr q3 bfg. A fast fireing, high damage, blasty weapon is too powerful. :/ |

Not that easy to aim it! Neither has it that much ammo. And a powerfull weapon is fun, for a little while that is. Because I'd think you shouldn't be able to fire it all day long. You can also down on the damage or blast radius. You can add lots of things to this to balance things. + Superweapons are meant to be strong. Most super weapons of games are 1 ammo big BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM stuff, why not a fast firing super weapon? |

don't work for me. So you don't like the Minigun then? Or the LG and Flamethrower, for that matter, considering they fire continuously and transcend the term "fast-firing" |

But what if the guy with the Minigun was just as skillfull at the game as you? You're certainly going to have problems, I assure you. And hell, I've been attacked by a guy with a Redeemer, survived the attack, and killed him. Twice in the same game, I believe. It's fairly simple to do if you can find cover. Does that mean that the Redeemer doesn't count as a superweapon? The Runestorm guys themselves called these weapons superweapons (though I still for the life of me can't imagine why the hell they just plonked them down with the regular weapon spawn points) |

The quake 3 arena BFG was not much more than a juiced up rocket launcher. The quake 2 BFG on the other hand was far cooler: it fired a single massive slow moving cloud of energy, being hit with it did about 1000 damage the cloud shot out deathrays at anything it passed (I would rebalance these so they dont instagib but still deadly) it left a small explosion but also spewed out explosive projectiles that behaved like grenades when it hit a wall. If there are any superweapon ideas to be used that takes notes from quake I would prefure this. |
