Well... we talked about Grenade Launchers, and then Multi-Grenade Launchers. Now we talk about the many kinds of ammo a GL can load: FIRE-MODES: -Timed (countdown) -Impact (explodes when it hits a surface) -Manual (explodes when the trigger is pulled a second time) -HE: normal grenade -EMP: disables tech -Nail-bomb: jumps up and explodes into a spray of nails -Freezer: freezes people on impact, freezes the ground which can trap people who are on it or make them slip -Decoy: attracts heat-seeking rockets (mortars) |

I'd make them impact based and timed depending on a switch, like press button X and you will cycle through available modes. Freezer is a lovely idea by the way. But it sounds restrictive the way you put it. I think it would be lots more fun if the grenade exploded and supercooled chemical (like liquid nitrogen) went in all directions, freezing & damaging everything in it's path. If an enemy is successfully frozen, you can shatter him with enough force. |

Dont forget the napalm and gas grenades For more grenade variations: check out some of the other Grenade launcher ideas. However I thought we were going to talk about exactly how you fire multiple types of grenades: -We could have the traditional scroll-through-grenade button. But that makes things fiddly when under pressure -There is my Grenade UI idea. Special fire opens a menu, primary fire chooses the selected grenade, secondary closes the menu (cancel) and mouse wheels scroll up and down -We could load indivudual grenades into one ammo clip so you fire a selected combination -We could have multiple grenade launchers stacked into one, each launcher fires a different amo type. The ideas go on. |

Their should be proximity grenade, and at least a plasma (energy) grenade. I like the special function acting as a Grenade UI menu. Real smart. The napalm would have to be quick but deadly, like say just a medium last radius ( the G5 could be considered a large or very large) The individual grenades loaded in one ammo clip for different combos sounds like a good idea, defiantly for the way BW will go in UT3 (from what i understand, it'll be a lot more tactical... if they decide to even make it) I don't think have multiple launchers would make much sense, it'd be better to just have clips for the different types (with some types that are weaker (or smaller) having more ammo capacity. I've always really hoped that BW would get a multiple ammo grenade launcher, here's hoping this idea finds itself made in the UT3 version of BW. |
