Not really a weapon, but more like a painter, comes from this thread http://www.runestorm.za.net/pl/forum/fo ... .php?44667 On map there arent any pickups anywhere, you must call supplies from air drop. You can only call for them once every certain time so you cant spam the map full of supply points, or have also a maximum. Weapon to call them is a sort of painter, you have to mark at the same spot for a time uninterrupted. Place for drop has to be accesible from outside by air, so that wouldnt be good to try on other modes than ons or vctf where maps usually have large outdoor areas. Once painted for enough time, an air drop of a package with a limited number of weapons, ammunition, health packs, etc is dropped from air at that point. Any team can pick up things from it, so you have to protect your package from enemy. May be also self desctruct on the supply package so you can get rid of it if you're sure enemy will win it or you dont need it anymore. Specially useful if there where a maximum of them. For those that fall on a bad place, you need to first use it once reached before next one is available for call, or be reachable by bot route, otherwise it would self destruct. This is to avoid call it near an edge, and it fall on the pit where no one can reach. On player operated self destruct, would be two modes of triggering, you must be close to it to triger it (like also for getting items), two self destruct modes can be enabled, instant, which would blow yourself too, and 30 sec delay. Good when opposite team is about to capture it. Each team starts with a (self refilling or unlimited?) supply pack on the core node / flag or could be the own core/flag acts as the dispenser of supplies. Also brings a new sight to the game, what about the unlimited ammo/fuel of vehicles. Definitively interesting if you have strong vehicles so you have to retreat them for more ammo. Feature probably only of taste for those who search a more tactical game, but vs players definitively worth the fun of calling a pack nearby the node you're going to attack. For those frag fest games, may be also if there are teammates around, no enemies close, nor anything taking enemy damage near the supply pack (or the own supply pack taking it), you can respawn at a supply point, like with ons nodes, one player at a time with a user configurable time restriction until next respawn is available there (configurable in 1/10th of second up to minutes, to be chosen by server admin). Package has a lot of health to take damage, but can be destroyed by shooting at it. Package also is much weaker at sticking explosives to it, so you can easily kill it if you reach close enough. Sounds like a lot of work, but at least for me, interesting feature for more tactical gameplay. Note that refer as tactical of thinking, not of as 1 shot dead, slow crawling, stuck when hit, etc tipycally called as "tactical". Games can be tactical and fast paced full of action. Edit: Not on feature request as being a lot of work wouldnt request it, if there is a better place for this than in weapon talk as most important part is pack, not the painter, feel free to move it to appropiate subforum |

supplies, bombs and aircraft dropping stuff in general has been suggested a million times. I love most of em. |
