ElectroMagnetic Radiation Projecter This is a weapon that has three main firemodes and a lethal last ditch close range secondary. The three firemodes are X-ray, Visible and infrared lasers. Each has an advantage over the others: X-ray laser - This does the least damage per second; however, once struck by the beam, the player will (after 10 seconds) begin to lose health due to ionising radiation exposure. This increases as time goes by, stopping only at death or at the collection of a health pack. Also, this beam is invisible but uses battery quite quickly. Visible laser - This does moderate damage, and can temporarily blind a player if you land a frontal headshot. However, it has a rather obvious green laser beam. Can fool a G5 rocket into following it - provided the rocket isn't already following its own beam. Infrared laser - This does the most damage, but eats battery like theres no tommorow. Can set a target alight if kept on them for long enough. Beam invisible except on railgun and plasma guns thermal sights, where it is a white hot beam. Ammo are 100V batteries, with 200V in reserve (this is kind of abitary, but I couldn't think of a better system). Visible uses 5V per second, X-ray uses 12V per second and Infrared uses 20V per second. Secondary fire discharges all of the remaining energy in the loaded battery in a 1 to 2 metre range arc, doing double the damage compared to volts used i.e. 20V - 40hp; 96V - 188hp; plus harms the user for half the damage done (if the arc doesn't hit anyone then it does full damage to the user - so make sure you hit someone!) Has a red dot scope with minimal magnification (2.5x). Obviously, the primary has no recoil (secondary has loads but that doesn't matter - your either reloading or dead), but the weapon is heavy and has lots of chaos. The weight is due to the battery and the minature LINAC (for generating X-rays); the other lasers are generated by small LEDs. |

I like it,it'd introduce mean health 'burning' tactics at a longer range than the flamethrower. But the secondary sounds like it could be abused too much,maybe if you increase the penaltys(self damage,overheat for a longish time)it'll balance out better. |
