a bullpup rifle is a weapon that has the ammo clip behind the trigger, instead of the traditional design which has it in front. there are several advantages to this, one of which is that this allows for a longer barrel length compared to a standard rifle of the same size, thus greatly reducing muzzle climb, and thus recoil. the weapon ejects hot brass and gasses from only one side. the disadvantages include a longer reload time. another disadvantage is that due to its large buttsize (which can be used to knock out enemies) it is hard to fire this weapon without sufficient space under it (ie. while the user is in the prone position). the weapon can fire large .51 caliber bullets at high velocities, thus doing a very large amount of damage per bullet, it also has excellent accuracy, but it has a slow fire rate due to sluggish trigger pull, caused by use of a flexible rod or similar system in its design. think of this as a full auto sniper weapon but with less damage and faster fire rate, much like the SRS9000 except slower fire rate but more accuracy and reduced recoil.[br][img width=619 height=292]../../files/public/1201897987_516_FT0_bullpup.jpg[/img]

how about the thing with the ammo clip being behind the trigger? i wasnt trying to make a unique weapon (notice the design is almost the same as the steyr AUG), but i thought we should have at least one bullpup rifle because they are shorter, more powerful and more accurate, it would make sense if you wanted to kill one of those fatass skrith (especially in urban warfare, where the bullpups are the kings) to use something shorter and with a little more bang. bleh, idc either way, just thought i'd throw the bullpup idea out there.

Well,we could at least throw in a laser sight or some small extra,cuz your sorta leaving out that magic special key.In fact your even leaving out the Alt,unless that brings up the scope(if that is a scope,I notice it says sights).

Maybe,at the least(I would still like to see something more special),we could go with some melee action for the alt,and a laser for the special.

i was thinking the 'use sights' button would use the scope and the alternate would use the large butt of the weapon (as is common among bullpup weapons) while the special could probably use a laser sight or maybe even a grenade launcher (the grenade could be secondary fire, i dont care either way, but i still think we should have at least one bullpup weapon in the BW arsenal)

this is more a concept than an actual weapon, i just want to see a bullpup weapon in BW because it is becoming increasingly popular among today's armies (like the FAMAS or the Steyr AUG)

at any rate, to make a good bullpup we have to keep in mind the advantages: shorter length (which could make it a sidearm), stronger firepower and lower recoil, at the cost of speed.

i was thinking of adding a second barrel which can be activated via the switch fire mode which would make it burst fire 3 bullets from each barrel (6 total) and make them spread out a bit more (like a really tight shotgun fire)

as an alternative, we could have each barrel fire two magnetically attracted bullets (keep in mind they would be very large bullets due to the high caliber of the weapon) and those two magnetically attracted bullets could be launched in the same way as if you held the alt-fire on the UT2004 rocket launcher and pressed the normal fire thing right before the launch, so they would go in a spiral format, like two slugs.

also, i was thinking another possible option is that the weapon could fire a light grenade, much smaller than the m-50's but have it be followed by bullets that spiral around it, so in addition to doing splash damage from the grenade, it would do normal damage from the bullets.

there are a lot of things we could do with this, i think we should NOT write off the bullpup idea just yet, because it allows for a shorter but equally powerful weapon (which means there is a longer barrel which allows for a more advanced rocket launcher or anything you want to attach to it.)

That spiral idea sounds interesting,those bullets would have to be very low velocity for the effect to be visible

we could have two mini-grenades (or even mini RPGs) do the spiral thing, i still think the pseudo-shotgun idea is not that bad, we could even replace the grenades with really high caliber bullets, like the bullets from the huge gun in robocop 3, something like a 2.00 instead of the .51 caliber being launched with the alt fire.

This kinda reminds me to Unreal 2's CAR. Anyway, bullpup rifles are the same as normal riflesin terms of power and RoF... And it would be easier to hit someone with a normal butt than a bulpup one. Maybe a sort of incendiary slug for the secondary fire?

ok so i have a new design, its really sort of 2 guns in one, but here it is:

the primary shoots 2 high caliber bullets (.75 inches in diameter) from the two barrels, like a shotgun that shoots slugs, this is only semi auto. these bullets do a lot of damage against infantry and aircraft, but not so much against ground vehicles.

the secondary switches the weapon's systems, and a large size barrel comes out from top where the sights would be (the weapon has no sights) and the weapon's primary fire becomes disabled and it will have 2 fire modes, with one of the modes a very large molten depleted uranium charge is fired (i would say about 1.5 inches in diameter). this does very good damage against vehicles and infantry, but because of its large size and unpredictable shape is somewhat inaccurate, so it wouldnt do much good against aircraft for fast moving land vehicles.

the second fire mode after the big barrel comes out is that it fires small high velocity mini grenades, like the ones from the m50 (but smaller, like .75 inches in diamter, these come out from the normal barrels, also, the fire rate is slow, like the fire rate of the rocket launcher from the normal weapons), except these travel as fast as the link gun's normal fire, they do not fall to the ground, they will act like bullets, just large ones, and they explode on impact and do decent damage against vehicles but do very well against infantry and aircraft. they have high accuracy.

the special function buttons can be used to deploy the weapon, in which case the mechanisms change again:

first, the large barrel comes out, also the primary shoots the normal bullets that the weapon would fire before the large barrels come out, and the secondary shoots the molten charges, with the swap fire mode button you can make the weapon fire the mini grenades instead of the large bullets.

yes, but imagine having it in ur hands when ur running towards a manta or a goliath or pretty much anything.

if its gonna be a bullpup its gotta be simple and lightweight, grenades wouldnt be used on a bullpup as its generally a close quarters weapon...and well i dunno about you guys but i know i dont like being in buildings when people are shooting grenades...especially knowing some of my buddies that actually stayed in the infantry

Just because the weapon is shorter doesnt make it more accurate or powerful, The weapons power depends mostly on the round it fires, last time i checked the Styer AUG fired a pitiful 5.56 round. The only thing they realy have going for them is they are more manueverable and compact.

This weapon sounds very complex... The only thing i realy see two barrels doing is sucking up ammo.

Most countries have a launcher made for their bullpup, the weapon has to be used in open areas as well as close qaurters. These rifles are just as accurate as a normal one. The only gun that ive seen eject shells in more than one direction is the styer aug which is a bull pup. If the gun fired a .51 caliber round it would be an anti vehicle weapon, most modern bullpups fire rounds about .223-.30 in size. A draw back to bullpups are if something goes terribley wrong your likely to get killed where with a normal rifle you may only loose a some fingers and an eye. many modern assault rifles are being shrunk down shorter than bullpups are. Bullpups are an intersting weapon, better than normal rifles, not realy. good ideas, yes they are. My first choice in a combat zone... i prefer an ak.
