1) I allmost allways end up getting killed when spawning with the pistol. The pistol has huge recoil for a semi-auto gun, any suggestions on how to effectively take down an opponent with it? 2) Anyone knows how to effectively use the skrith sidearm altfire? (or if it's any good at all) |

just take your shots slowly with the pistol, make sure after firing that the barrel has finished firing before shooting again! |

The pistol has huge recoil for a semi-auto gun, any suggestions on how to effectively take down an opponent with it? Keep your distance (if possible) and carefully aim each shot. If bots run towards you firing full auto they'll lose all accuracy even at relatively close range, and you can use that to your advantage by crouching and hitting them with accurate semi auto fire, as fast as the recoil allows. By the time they get into effective range they'll be dead. Well, that's the idea anyway, doesn't always work obviously... Also, prey on the wounded (of course they're a lot easier to identify if you use the BloodLoss mut...) and try laser guided headshots if some sucker is standing still. datsylel wrote: 2) Anyone knows how to effectively use the skrith sidearm altfire? You mean the trace hit beam? When fully charged, the beam is actually quite powerful (50 DP?) Again, try to keep your distance and take careful aim with the crosshairs. If the first, fully charged shot hits you could try to finish them off with faster, only partially charged beamshots. If they're real close you could try spamming them to death with primfire. Or something!

I just keep distance and shoot at slow rate so the recoil doesn't affect the accuracy. Works for me, but overall the pistol isn't much of an effective weapon... |

Don't mots pistol have a sliding thing on the top for both cocking the gun and shooting? |

You mean when you see someone's hand on the top and it's shooting faster? That's called fanning the hammer, and you keep pulling the hammer back really fast, thus shooting more quickly. The Skrith sidearm's alt is so funny when it kills them and sends their corpses flying into a wall. |

its beam fire has i think 100 dp if hits in the chest... its not that ineffective, but we will be tweaking it some more in the future.. |

A 9mm pistol does that automaticly, making you able to fire quite a few times before needing to put a new clip into the gun. |

yeah doesn't that also vastly reduce vertical recoil? Cause that doesn't happen at all with the BW pistol! |

You ever saw a semi-auto handgun in action? The slide on he top moves back and forth with every shot fired. Holding your hand there wouldn't be a swell idea... *ouch* |

Nope.
A real gun has multiple times more kickback. |

canada has guns man....good god, you can get pretty much anything here with the proper permits, but yes the slide does indeed move with firing and cocking and fanning is stricktly for revolvers. i may be a little more privilaged due to my short military career, but still we have guns and civilians can get them with permits, heck you can get a demilitarized c7 rifle(canada's m16 pretty much) hunting stuff in my house -le einfield 303 -12 guage shotty what ive used -c7 rifle -c9 light machine gun -c6 medium machine gun -grenades..cant remember what they were m72 comes to mind...but not sure -carl gustav rocket launcher -the 303 mentioned above...nearly took my shoulder off from recoil when i fired it too -12 gauge what ive seen recently in posession with permits by others -ak47 -pump 12 guage shotty -some sort of 7.62mm long range rifle with sniper scope -glock 9mm canada has guns...not as much as the states but we got them, sorry to bust ur chops but i had to state the facts forgot to mention my bows, (1 recurve and 1 compond)...not really a gun but it shoots and its effective |

Yeah i know we have guns... but i was trying to say that amercians almost don't need permets for their (those odd territory Texas men) guns. Cool you have bows, now thats awesome. |

Aren't there guns that are 50/50 bow and gun? Like the crossbow in HalfLife? |
