How about a gun like a bolter (a rapid fire gun that fires, rocket propelled, Depleted Deuterium Core bullets. Bolters are very heavy and can not be used be a normal human whilst running (I don't care what you've seen on Fire Warrior, I play Inquisitor) and are commonly used by a space marine (a 8 foot tall Warrior in very powerful amour, there is about 1 to a planet and could easily wipe out an army of humans ("but I play WarHammer and they are not that powerful!" no, sadly WarHammer does not even follow its own story plus who would play it if you could only have one model)). If you are not satisfied check wikipedia (no, I will not make a like for you, I cannot be bothered to after this rant).

Anyway yes this gun would be too powerful (seeking bullets due to the gyrostabilizers) so I need people to make it weaker and not directly copied from WarHammer so that I am not sued!

I love the bolters and WH40k, but what about you just take the basic idea, a really big automatic gun with really big bullets, and work from that?

If I were able to easily mod UT2k4 I'd take the Warhammer 40K mod and finish it,allowing you to select the sides,play out battles,play as every race found in Dawn of War with race specific classes and class specific weapons.

I'd love to do that,but I have a lot more to learn before anything like that is possible for me.

As for your bolter,I'd rather see a Chain Sword/Blade before this.

Smaller versions actually exist in real life.

They were unique in that they actually increased in power as the projectile flew, though they lacked stopping power at close ranges. You could actually stop the round by holding your finger or some cardboard to the muzzle.

The bullets don't seek, they just explode, and are rocket proppelled. I already made a concept like this, btw. Check the Panzer Corp weapons topic. It should be on the first or second page

The gyrojet failed however,in that the accuracy wasn't there at all.I'd bet if they used pneumatics they could properly fire the weapon.

Apparently, the weapon was to be more accurate than conventional bullets due to their trajectory, but failed later tests because of a manufacturing flaw in the bullets in later production runs.

I was refering to a type of bolt only in one novel, this type of bolt: picks a target, flies at the target at V.high speeds, pierces the target (if it doesn't go through armor due to the speed then it drills in), then drills through and flies out the other end, then doubles back on itself and flies at the target at high speeds, then penitrates, and finally expoldes whilst inside the target.

I will tell you the name of this bolt when I find it... I think it was actually a heavy bolter bolt and costom at that... B)

I just read a WH40k short story, Business as Usual, that mentioned bolts that had homing, but nothing more than that. Don't recall what they were named though.

What about the heavy bolter? I've just played some W40K Dawn of War, Dark Crusade. A Heavy bolter would be quite useful against medium vehicles, if you dont have a G5, railgun or HAMR.

And it would be the miniguns twin in terms of power and that's not something we want. The minigun is already horribly overpowered. In melee or if you place it on a nice spot it's quite hard to get killed.

How about this:

    a onehanded
    rapid fire
    SLIGHTLY seeks
    damage on this will be very small
now, I was thinking what it would use as bullets:

    um... bullets
    a small parasite
    balls of energy
    darts
    disks
    shards of something

As you can tell I do not know... the fountain of knowlage with a blockage!

Heh... I'm the polar opposite, the fountain of knowledge with a leak, overflows, and never knows when to shut up :p

In all seriousness, though, I really do have too many ideas and too little time, I've created four topics filled with about 5 weapon/vehicle ideas each, or a few very complicated ideas. Anyways, a small parasite would be interesting, good for the Krao. But it seems very, VERY Tryaniddy, enough for potential lawsuit if not created carefully in both name and function.

But that would depend upon what the parasite does, does it dissolve from the inside out or explode him in a shower of acid, bones, etc. Oh the possibilities..

What about bone? Just throwing that one out there...

Just an Idea but it could be like the grenade launcher off "Unreal 2" (six fire modes) but what the fire modes will be...
