A504 TDSW, aka, Team Defense and Support Weapon.

The A504 is a weapon that first needs to be deployed in order to be able to fire it. It can be very effective against both infantry and vehicles. This weapon is able to fire 2 different munitions, but it is necessary to change the ammo box in order to fire a different type of munition. For infantry, you can load up a .50 calibre munition box, and against armor you can load up a box of high velocity 30mm shells. There's a digital scope mounted on top capable of a 3x zoom. While looking through the scope, the scope activates a laser rangefinder. Other A504 users can see the laser of your, or other's, mounted rangefinder while looking through their own scope.

Detailed info:

Mobile state: No firing modes.
Left mouseclick - Mount gun.
Right mouseclick - Nothing.

Fixed state: 2 firing modes.
Left mouseclick - Fire.
Right mouseclick - switch between 30mm UC or .50
Special Key - Bring up scope.

Munition and fire info:
.50 calibre
ROF: 250 RPM
Capable of killing infantry and damaging light vehicles. Above decent accuracy.

30mm Uranium Core shells
ROF: 120 RPM
Very small explosion on impact, capable of severely damaging tanks. Slightly decreased accuracy, hard to kill infantry with on longer ranges.

erm, does it have 2 barrels, because .50 cal (12.7mm) will not work if fired in a 40mm barrel (and vice versa)

Well i partially got the idea from those 2 models, but it's a bitch to switch barrels and internal bolt under a firefight.

I've had interesting ideas of a morphing barrel...
It would resize itself depending on the ammunition used.

This system would work with one barrel if the .50 cal bullets were fitted with sabbot cassings. To increase the size of the round while its fired and once it bullet leaves the barrels the sabbot would simply fall away from the bullets.

40MM? Yikes
That's pretty huge, you're talking a rather large autocannon more fitting for light armor than infantry support. Now, I know that length is a factor, and that mortars of larger caliber exist. Then agin, the weapon that also uses MM, the Flak 24 I made, is an AA-Light AT gun, albeit a powerful yet manportable one, so 'tis not the best comparison.

Well it could also easely be done with 30mm. Yes... i think 30mm fits anti armor purposes just fine. 30mm uranium core. I'm going to edit that.

30MM sounds right. Most light AT guns that must be towed are at least 37 MM, and those are not very large anyways. And the average guns are usally somewhere between 40-60 MM. while the big stuff is 60-to 80. Anything beyond that is a tank gun, and the guns just below or at 80 are anyways, in my opinion.

Edit: I suggest being able to make a more standing position with the tripod, for firing from above walls or sandbags, or through bunker slits. Right click would be standing, left would be normal mounting on the ground. Maybe the arrow could adjust height when standing.

If i'm not mistaking, the A-10 tank killer's gatling is exactly 30mm with uranium core, so that'll do just fine ^^

A more standing position with the tripod..? You mean like, placing the bars of the tripod closer to eachother so that it stands a bit higher?

surely if it is firing 30mm DU bullets then it would need more stablity E.G: centre of gravity closer to the floor.

None taken. And yes, that is what I mean. Not incredibly close, just slightly closer so that it stands a little bit higher. Perhaps it could have stabilising spikes at the ends?

I'm afraid that these spikes/pins won't be able to keep it in place with the recoil of the 30mm rounds.

There wasn't any mention of flamethrowers, so no idea where that idea came from... But, nonetheless, a huge flamethrower would be awesome

Though i think it could evolve in a recoilless gun. Imagine that you could like... change the barrel. 30mm barrel, .50 barrel, 15mm recoilless barrel. Something along those lines.

Considering it has to be deployed before it can be fired i'd say it would be a very good camp *cough* powernode defense weapon.

*Snickers at the thoughts of the carnage caused by firing through the bunker slits on that forested CTF map (Can't remember the name, it's standard though) and raining hell on every bot trying to make it through the thicket.*
