The mp5k is an old favorite of mine, probably due to it's unique appearance- short and tall.
Ballistic Weapons does of course require a few more submachine guns, so here is an idea for a MP5K-like weapon, with a twist.

It fires inaccurarely, and even more so when dual wielded. However, the twist of this weapon is that like some melee weapons, it can be used to block attacks, even bullets to some limited extent. If dual wielded, both guns will block, though it will be hard to see anything, this can help in preventing headshots from up front, and increases the chance to deflect enemy attacks.

Of course, in real life this would be a fairly pointless action and could cause the weapon alot of damage, but since the weapon is fictional, maybe it is made from some highly durable alloy, or something. I just thought the idea was pretty cool.

The XK2 is an MP5 actually. It wouldn't really be much of a change to make the MP5K since it'd basically just be another XK2 with a higher fire rate, less control than the original XK2, and simply not much else.

Not exactly, the MP5 and MP5K are very different in appearance, as well as this blocking ability would make them tactically different. This gun would also lack the silencer.

Besides, how many pistols do we got?

Most of the pistols have something to make them different from each other. The most similar pistols in function are the M806A2 and RS8, but even they are different in that the RS8 can be silenced. However, the RS8 was added because Redshift basically commissioned the team to add it (along with the XRS10 and SRS900).

As for blocking, blocking only works against melee weapons with the current code work. I dunno how easy it is to make it block the bullet, but that should have some sort of backlash since it'd be making having a melee weapon absolutely more useless than already!

Captain Xavious has already created a kite shield that can block bullets,as well as several other things I think.

Only problem with it is you couldn't see worth crap with it when blocking.

Well then you still gotta think about how to balance this sort of blocking ability since it renders a melee fighter useless when a gun guy can continue to fire at them and block when absolutely needed.

One way is to limit the amount of damage blocked by percent, and the fact that the gun cannot shoot at point blank due to long weapons limitations. Melee weapons are only for backstabbing anyway, since a melee fighter is chanceless against a shotgunner, flamer lightning gunner, whom also excel in other fields than close combat.

I like the idea of weapons being used to block attacks.

Maybe, the weapon can take from 1 to 5 blocks (say a weak weapon like the pistols block one melee hit, and the RPG blocks 5) and its aim is affected, or the weapons breaks down completely.

You can disable that option and make long guns usable at point blank range
I think making all weapons usable for blocking attacks and having HP will need a some work IMO ....

Now this is thinking balance! Aim should be affected each hit further and further, until it break entirely (although now this would require new models to show a destroyed gun).
