I think that a new vehicle for UT would be awesome, and if it were to be made, it should go along the lines of a helicopter or some sweet futuristic VTOL aircraft.

It could have...

-two mounted .50 machineguns on the sides for passengers (like Blade sword's except with unlimited ammo and a spade grip)

-several other passenger spots

-an opening in the back, like...
a) an open compartment with a rear door that can open up to load players and possibly vehicles (if they don't fly out, like the helix)
b) or possibly no rear door, and just an open back area with another .50 machine gun and can still hold people

-the copilot could have control of a forward mounted gun (like a railgun, a powerful flechette gun, or a vulcan cannon of some sort), and pilot can deploy countermeasures, little cluster bombs things and look pretty

How 'bout dem apples? ;)

Well, I honestly dont know how to make vehicles for UT, but maybe...maybe I can probably make a basic model of the craft, but that'll probably be as much as I can really do until I learn some more, then we'll just see where that'd go ;D

Unfortunately modding is always a DIY... nobody will spend hours (at a minimum) to make something for free.

Mind you, good practice though!

Alright, this is a basic idea I'd like to see if I were to make it, except it'll have two forward guns of sorts, an opening inside for people/guns/etc, probably a turret on the top, make it more streamline, give it bigger, more badass engines (that rotate) and landing gear :)

So what you're saying is that every object that is going to move on the vehicle has to be a completely different object/saved to a different file?

No, it just needs to be separate geometry, er, I think.

But it that really true? I mean, when animating the BW hands the fingers don't need to be separate. Are vehicles funny like that?

Either way, for a mechanical object like that ship its just a good idea anyways.

cool, because i'm doing the whole "mirror modifier" thing trying to pump out 2 engines at once, and if I have to make the chassis of the craft by itself, then I'll cry a little :)

btw, the middle block will be the chassis ;)

Yep, think, if you rotated, moved and scaled the fingers enought, all the texture would be stretched.

Not really. The UVs don't get distorted when you animate things. The only texture stretch you see is if you moved or scaled a bone, which you wouldn't be doing anyways for a continuous mesh object. And even so, it'd be between the sets of verts that moved and the previously adjacent verts that stayed still.

SO MUCH PRESSURE!!! MUST NOT DISSAPOINT!!! lol I'll try to do as much as I can modelling the vehicle, but that's probably as far as I can go unless either A ) I learn to code and do whatever it takes to make an awesome quality vehicle or B ) unless someone who's super bored and wants to take the reins afterwards :D but of coarse, I'd definatly love to see this vehicle really take off! (pun intended of coarse ;) )
