Post subject:  shotgun melee

I've got a grand idea, why dont we make a melee type weapon kinda similar to the one used in inglorious basterds where they're kinda like gloves, but when you punch someone it blasts them with a shotgun shell (though the real one uses a pistol round I believe) sounds cool?

Oh yeah, and the player can have them on both fists for twice as fun ;D

Been done in Fallout Tactics ^-^

I have often thought of making this, but I was going to do it belt-fed, was thinking akimbo style... either belt fed or a similar style to that of Lara Croft's ammo backpack in the first movie...

I'd rather see brass knuckles with the same damage as a knife.
That would make some great fights.

Why not just use Kelly's fists...?

Would this penetrate the player you are punching (ie chance of killing two in one punch)... if not then you might as well just use the knife as suggested above ^^;

I like this idea. I'll bring it up with sgt. Kelly. I just loved the concept when I seen it in Fallout Tactics.

And Brass Knuckles roughly equivalent to the knife? Doable. I already made some brass knuckles, we were planning on putting them in some time anyways.

Whats the trade off to the knife's insanely awesome knife throw though? I'm thinking slower fire rate but higher damage, maybe you just move a bit faster with them out than the knife?

My fists are not equivalent to the knives. They weren't intended to be. It takes a couple hits to the face to kill someone, I think about 3 or 4, which is more than the knife needs. Does mess up their vision though with a punch to the face though (er, probably, it did at one point), and make you run a lot faster. Not really on par with the knife though.

A burst of speed done which recharges like the flash on the combat pistol? (allowing you to get closer if timed correctly)

I am having problems with the weapons cache so wouldn't have known, I thought though that it would be a simple job to add brass knuckles to a hexed version of the fists then alter the damage... so something ABA might be able to do...

Anyhoo, I didn't mean any offence btw guys. Sorry if any was caused, been rather more blunt then usual due to lack of sleep ^^;

How was that offensive?

By the way, the fists can do up to 92 damage in one hit if you deliver a good cross to the face. They have wildly fluctuating damage values that go from extreme highs to extreme lows.

yeah sorry I wasn't able to respond for a a couple days (family visiting/ internet probs) but yeah I think that would be a pretty sweet addition to the melee category, but that would be a pretty cool idea to throw in some brass knuckles... or maybe a pair of "blast knuckles", they're kinda like brass knuckles, but with a built in stun-gun

Are we seeing new weapons for your pack, Kelly? :P

I could just over lay the blast knuckle thingies over the brass knuckles, so you could have it random (or not) hide one or the other when you pick it up.

Or heck, for some crazy fun you could make one brass knuckles and the other blast knuckles. :P

We could totally utilize the camouflage system to randomize between Blast knuckles, brass knuckles, and/or shotgun knuckles. That would be awesome. :D

ooh, another great idea! ;D how about they can act like pistols where you can pick each of them up and hit the dual wield button and scroll around them to choose the combo you want? :)
