I can imagine a heavy railgun turret or a HAMR turret being pretty awesome, though sadly I doubt anyone is going to take the time to make anything that complex.

There should be a mod that would replace the original boring turrets with new more "modern" kinds of turrets such as a twin heavy machine gun mount, a howitzer or maybe even an AA gun of sorts just to mix things up a bit. |
