Hello everyone!
I'm german so forgive my english if it's akward!
Ballistic weapons 2.5 is realy awesome. I liked it! Who does not like BW has got no balls :P
I've got some ideas to improve Ballistic Weapons

1. KillCam - Please add the KillCam function (can be disabled by admin) just like in Call of Duty. Killed players should be able to see, who when where and how the player got owned. The killed player can skip the KillCam and after then he can respawn.
2. After sprint inaccurate firing - After the player has used his sprint function he should first catch some new breath (with sound) and while the player is breathing he/she cannot fire so accurate as usual. Iron-sight should be a little inaccurate too.
3. Lie down - The player can stand, jumb and duck! But the Lie function is missing (just like in COD) The player should be able to lie down if duck is not enough
4. Binocle + Airstrike - Every player should be able to use a binocle in case if they dont have any sniper. There should be a additional little radio pickup which will add +1 Ammo to the airstrike weapon. By using a binocle and pressing the fire button the player sends a bomber to the target position and the bomber will drop a single (or cluster bombs) rocket down to the surface of the target position and will eliminate everything in its little range
5. Anti-air Gattling cannon (AA137 Gattling Cannon) - This minigun weapon will fire exploding bullets (explosion radius is very low) that can be wonderful used to take down the air. Switching the firemode will unarm the Gattling Cannon's bullets and replace them with a firestorm (short ranged) just like the peace maker will make it useful vs infantary. Can be set up as a turret just like the machineguns BUT the turret is not able to turn to the bottom (anti air only)

i still got 2 questions: Why do you guys gave the weapons like the M50 or XK2 their own name? Why did you not called them like M16A2 or MP5K ?

1. KillCam - I don't think it's possible to get a kill cam working on UT2004, but I'd like that. :-\

2. After sprint inaccurate fire - doesn't that already happen? :think:

3. Lie Down - MY GOD NO!!!! The prone option from COD is missing, and might I remind you of how annoying that is in COD? :x

4. Binnocles + airstrike - check out Herr General's airstrike mod http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dntNbFW-8CA

5. Anti-air Gattling cannon - Sgt. Kelly is working on a Minigun that shoots explosive rounds.I like the idea of a specialized anti-air weapon, though...but I'm hesitant to comment on it's usefulness, considering the alternatives.

Finally,they aren't called M16A2 (although I personaly think it looks more like an M4 with a longer barrel) and MP5k (again, I think it's based on another SMG, but I forget which) because they AREN'T M16A2 and MP5k's.
Since Ballistic Weapons is suposed to take place in the future , weapons that look like modern weapons, are suposed to be newer models.

So the anti air gattling cannon idea will be added? Give the weapon 3 legs (like the minigun) it should "stand" on the ground like a sentry.

Right now ive got another idea for BW. Instead of Translocator you should replace them with a Grapple Gun (You can damage other opponents and you can Grapple together with a teammate)
With the SWITCH WEAPON MODE you can fire your Grapple Gun to get upward (Standard) or by changing the weapon mode you can get down slowly without getting hurt. Should you press your switch weapon mode key again you should "hold" your Grapple Gun to stay where you are without getting up or falling down. Scope maybe?

Idea number 7: Sentry guns!
You can pick up little sentry's that will fire on enemys (MAX 2 or 3 sentries. check settings!) There are 3 Different Sentrys! The Rocketsentry that can fire rockets, The Standart sentry that will fire 5.56 Bullets or just the Projectiles from the Peacemaker. The sentry can switch their firemode too (You can mount it on the floor [standart], or by switching weapon fire mode you can mount it on the ceiling) The sentry can be destroyed by enemies or can be repaired by teammates with skrith weapons. You can control the sentry by entering the vehicle and fire with it! Zoom maybe? The sentry should be a +1Ammo pickup that replaces the Biorifle (group grenades and traps)

Rocket Sentry: This is the most powerful sentry! It's reloading rate is slow but it can fire 2 Rockets at the same time! After the first rocket is fired the second rocket will be released in very short time.Very accurate. The rocket sentry can also blind enemies after the second rocket is fired! This sentry can hold out the most damage of the other sentries

Sentry Gun: Fires 30 (or 60) Rounds of 5.56 Bullets. It has dual barrels that are spinning and firing the bullets. The fire rate is fast, it is not so accurate like the rocket sentry but its reloading time takes not long!

Firestorm Sentry: Fires the projectiles of the Peace maker. This sentry is the most inaccurate of them, fires 100 Rounds per clip, medium-fast firerate and the reloading time takes less than the Rocket sentry but longer than the standart Sentry gun

Runestorm have discontinued Ballistic Weapons as of v2.5 and are working on Rooks Keep now. I don't think Runestorm used any ideas posted in this forum during BW's timeline but the BW community can still take note of ideas and use them in their unofficial releases for BW.

The sentry gun/sentinels idea is a good one. Adding those would give completely different aspects to the game and make it much more fun in certain situations.
There's already a sentinels mod out, but its a little too over powered and would need to be adjusted to make it balanced with Ballistic Weapons.

The other suggestions probably wouldn't work out so well with UT2004. (Except for the grapple gun since Chaos already has one.) The binocs with airstrikes sounds good, but with the way the fog is set up, zooming in does not make it easier to see things. Its actually easier to see far away by tilting your view downward and looking at the edge. The zoom feature in many weapons is for precision aiming.

How do you guys like that: optical Illusions grenades (in shape of a pill left red and right blue)
They push out a yellow-orange colored smoke that will cause minor damage to the enemys! Affected enemys will see in their monitor things about combat (the longer they are affected the longer it lasts). example: The enemy got affected by those grenades. Now the enemy's sight is a little blured and he will see gunshots, flames, rockets, explosions, smoke, little lights and stuff like that! That is kind a mistake of enemys sight! What he see's is not real (can only be seen by affected players) those things cause no damage but will play with the mind of the affected enemy! if the player is a robot (if possible) like Xan or Divisor then the player see's additional things like virus, trojan, warnings and so on...

How the bots will do i dont know yet but its all up to you!
And this one: Deployable Barricades (Use the current Staticmesh from UT2k4 or create one)
Protects you and your teammates (or enemys) from bullets, rockets, fire and other dangerous stuff. They have by default 750 HP (can be changed by settings) They have their limit too (2 or 3). They should be 50% Transparent for a preview before deploying. The barricade is not high but not low too but you can still hide behind when you crouch. Add the setting if the player can damage his/her own barricade too. The best model would be the sandbag

Oh and one thing i forgot about the sentries! When they die they should cause a little explosion if the sentry got hit in it's engine/fuel bottle/ammo box! The explosion radius is short and the damage is low too!
About the anti-air minigun: If they fire the projectiles from the Peacemaker they should fall down slowly if they fly too far

Replacement for the Leviathan: Battle Striker
This bipedal vehicle can load up to 4 men. The driver has the powerful rocket launcher that launches the rockets with slow speed. Altfire will launch a fast energy ball.
2. and 3. place will have the dual machinegun like the stinger.
4. passanger can fire the missiles from the HAMR
It would be awesome if the Leviathan will be replaced with the Battle Striker (and the vehicle should realy be a biped)

You should add a Gamemode that handles about survival. Zombie Survival! Copy the Invasion Gamemode and modify that to Zombie Survival
OR
Zombie Survival (Human VS Zombies)
One player starts as a zombie with double HP and damage (as it is the only zombie) Humans win after the time has run out but the zombies can win if they kill all humans before the time reaches 00:00! When a zombie killed 3 or 4 humans it will redeem and revive back to human (i got that idea from garry's mod zombie survival! man that was fun) Itemizer would fit in perfectly.

we have that already, its called 'Invasion' just find a zombie monster pack and ur be fine.

but i do like to have sentry guns, BW ones anyway, we do have sentry guns already, from a dude named MR.evil, but having ones that uses BW's assets would be nice.
