Okay, I know I already put this in the feature requests, but I just noticed this section ^^ sorry. Get weapon ideas from Goldeneye, that game made games like this possible... to an extent. But I'm talking double deutsch, or weapons like that. Brilliant fun!!!! So yeah... |

Deutsch means German. Probably dual wielded rapid fire guns made in Germany. I never played Golden Eye so I have no idea what he is talking about if my explanation is incorrect. |

Deutsch does mean German in... well German, but they were also guns in Goldeneye... I'll just check the spelling though, I could be horribly wrong... yes I was wrong, not too badly though, I was spelling it how it was pronounced ^^ the gun is called: the DK5 Deutsche, it was a sub machine gun, the real model, forgotten the name now, was able to have semi auto firing and three shot burst. Problem with Goldeneye was that they didn't have the rights to use the real guns names. For example, the P90 was called the RCP90... now was THAT a good gun!!!! Hell, that thing shot through walls! It was a pretty cool machine gun and Mr Bond had the ability to hold two of them... mind you, with cheats he could also duel wield a rocket launcher. Another idea, slightly off topic, are Glock 18's... the most stupid machine postol ever created. 30 bullets in under 5 seconds.... :S ANYWAY.... that was off topic, but if you just do a quick search for the DK5 Deutsche it might come up with some cool guns ^^ |

Thew silly deutsche thing was an MP5k. And we already have something almost identical to the MP5. And no, I don't think anyone really wants glocks in BW. |

You are so right!!! I knew the Deutsche was familiar... Like I said, they weren't allowed to use the real names... that Phantom was pretty cool though. Sorry, i'm just reminiscing about the good old days... |

Are game developers now allowed to use real weapon names? This must have been a legal issue not long ago... |

They are nowadays, they have to pay for the names though. They did it in SOCOM 3, they had to pay for the rights though, like you do in football games. |

I see, so mod makers don't have to pay as long as they aren't making profit from the mod? |

That's correct. And the Phantom's real name is the Spectre. Thing uses a double-stacked magazine so it can hold 50 rounds. |

I love the sound that weapon makes! OOooh, yeah, how about some really loud automatics. Really deep ones that make people pee their pants because they know they're about to get owned by THAT gun! ^^ |

You mean sounds like the ones HalfLife 2's pulse rifle makes? That gun is one loud monster! |

I've never properly played HL2... I know the story and the ending, but tahts it, don't know any weapons... But yeah, a real loud... scary gun... You know the feeling when you hear a redeemer go off or an ion cannon fire down. You want to create that feeling. Also, the feeling that you get when you realise you've just trodden on a mine or a grenade has just landed on you... thats one of the best feelings to recreate. Kudos to you guys if you manage to get a gun that does that. |

If you have played Serious Sam First/Second Encounter, some of the weapons in that game have e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y powerful firing sounds, especially the Cannon. When I held down the fire button, my subwoofer almost commited suicide.

lmao... I never got into that game... i mean it took cartoony into a whole new dimension. Here's an idea for a weapon... The human's first ever laser. Make it look really cult style and very much like a laser from a 60's film. Like the moonraker laser. It could be a really rubbish starting weapon. |

No, what I described was with 50% bass and around 40% volume. What do you mean by 'Human's first ever laser'? We'll need a better name on a weapon that fires a laser. |

lol, I know, but picture in the 60's what people thought a laser would look like... you could just call the weapon a really funny/cult name such as "laser beam" or "Heat ray" |

A laser looks like...well...a colored line, and the color is based on the frequency of the light waves. The only damage lasers can do is burning a spot, something that StarTrek appearantly didn't pick up.

lmao... okay... if you want to be pedantic, thats fine... A laser GUN then... Made out of washing up bottles and pens... please don't take that seriously, what I mean is, it would LOOK like it was made out of that. |

Star Wars has the best guns ever, even better Star Wars Republic Commadno had cool laser effects for the clone guns. |

Okay, Bjossi just picked a fight he really doesn't want to. Star Trek has never messed up the whole laser thing. But I'm willing to accept that you aren't just stupid, so I'll ask what you think is innacurate about lasers in Star Trek. Unlike Star Wars, which somehow has explosive lasers. Explain that one. |

Lasers melt, they don't explode. Simple as that. And not George Lucas or any of his lackeys can change the laws of physics. Sci-Fi should not conflict with the laws of physics, you wanna do that, go play D&D. It's better at it anyway. And macintosh, who wants to be Bond in BW? I'm just one person, but I don't want to be an overdressed prick who would use corny pickup lines on his own mother. But that's just me. |

I think the guns in Star Wars are thermal weapons. Not lasers. I'd like to see a weapon that fires a small gamma or ion ray that is invisible in itself but has a colored laser for guidance and caution. That way the weapon does not have to be confined to the rules of a laser. Deus Ex 2 used this to explain its laser systems. The visible beam was just a warning so that people turned back and didn't get fried or gassed when walking into a secured area. |

Yep. Though I always half-wondered why on earth wou would want to warn intruders about the security systems. I'd rather have them flatlined than make them wander around until they found an EMP grenade. |

Hey, guys... The weapons in star wars are FANTASY... infact, the weapons in star trek are close to fantasy too... To be honest, I do prefer the unrealistic lasers in star wars... I mean, they look cooler. And George Lucas does sort of explain it with the whole fact that they are "blasters" not lasers. Makes it sound like a more advanced form of ammunition other than led bullets. Maybe super heated metal? Sure, star trek has realistic lasers and in Voyager, they look pretty cool, but... you know how it is... And I odn't WANT to be bond, all I'm saying is that the weapons in Goldeneye are good. |

If you guys want to debate so heartly about StarWars and StarTrek, please do it in the General OT forum, I'd hate to ban any of you for acting like immature kids when defending a franchise. |
