Welcome indeed! Nice pics, very atmospheric. Medieval cathedral / castle style has always been one of my favorite themes, so I'm really looking forward to this one. How big's it gonna be, btw?
Oh and you wouldn't by any chance be interested in doing a sponsored map for 2K7, would you?

Couldn't help but advertise your own creations, eh, BE?
But anyways, welcome! I can't wait to try out that map, it looks very nice. As Red said, looks very atmospheric, which I love.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been a fan of BW since its initial release
Not sure if it's obvious or not, but the map is inspired by the Thief series, mostly the last one: Deadly Shadows. Redshift wrote: How big's it gonna be, btw? It should be medium to large in size, but I'm still working on the layout. I created most of the current meshes quite sometime ago, but never got around to creating a finished map with them. It's still pretty much in the early stage, as you may be able to tell by the plain looking floor :/ (Which has already been fixed )Redshift wrote: Oh and you wouldn't by any chance be interested in doing a sponsored map for 2K7, would you?
I might be But it's going to take much longer to create Unreal Engine 3 maps

sHoKaZuLu wrote: It should be medium to large in size, Nice! Yes, size does matter, especially if you're into TDM and such. sHoKaZuLu wrote: but I'm still working on the layout. *cough*Z-axis*cough* heh heh... sHoKaZuLu wrote: {sponsored map} I might be !sHoKaZuLu wrote: But it's going to take much longer to create Unreal Engine 3 maps
Hm, yeah, poor n00bs... Not sure how difficult it would be, but they (Epic) should make an Ued for Dummies, where you can just drag & drop staticmeshes etc. like Lego blocks. Same with botpaths and such, just roughly indicate how you want things and everything is auto-generated. That way just about anyone could slap together a (more or less) playable, decent looking map in couple of days or even just hours... Maybe you could do something like this with weapons and vehicles as well, would be pretty sweet. WYSIWYGUed.

Yeah, just using stock content shouldn't take much longer after you learn all the new or improved features, lighting for example. Creating custom content though is a diferent matter

I like the referance to the game Thief that you threw into your map. |
