I noticed that BW weapons don't fit too well in a lot of the sillier maps with whose style realistic anything clashes. On the other hand ONS-Urban feels just right. It even has sandbag barriers! :whoohoo: It's too bad they're too high for the mounted machineguns. The G5 demonstrates very well why tanks aren't cost effective for urban combat. Silly Epic, tanks are for open ground! Perhaps we should dedicate part of the forum to links to good maps whose atmospheres are compatible with BW. I think we should have a sticky for links to maps that're great with BW. For contributions, look also for features that combine awesomely with BW weapons and features; perfect perches for machineguns and snipers, ambush points for shotguns and RPGs, perfect hiding places to throw a grenade into, etc. Provide with each link a brief description of what it's like and particularly what makes it especially suited for BW. We could link to golden finds and easily share with the community. |

There is also a smaller version called "DM-WarmerBody". It can be downloaded at the same site. http://www.outpt.co.uk/map004.php DM-Serenissima Beautiful Venice themed deathmatch map. I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Bjossi! Most of these are must-have classics, well-known to Atari (etc.) forum regulars... But someone had to mention them anyway!
Anyway, here's another one you probably already have, and in any case definitely should have: DM-SomaV2 Awesome looking cave map with surprisingly good gameplay. http://unrealtournament2004.filefront.c ... Soma;47415 |

I actually haven't tried that one before, although I have seen it few times mentioned on Atari. I'll check it out when my exams are over on Friday.

Lol, you always seem to have exams of one sort or another! Also worth checking out: DM-Frozen_Tundra As the name suggests, a large winter terrain map with hills, trees... and vehicles! It's got tanks, the SPMA & a scorpion. Maybe a hellbender too, not sure (only just discovered this one). It's got custom code so the bots will use the vehicles in regular DM, not just TDM. And they do use them pretty efficiently, so be sure to pack a railgun!

I love vehicle DM, it is a shame how few maps have vehicles placed by default. By the way, the final exam is tomorrow morning, then I'll have successfully escaped hell...erm...school.

I found that DM-Goatswood is, for some reason, quite fun with ballistics weapons... Especially when combo'd with the quad-jump mutator & a katana

http://www.beyondunreal.com/content/articles/157_1.php It's at #4. There's actually 2 versions, although ballistics works with both (As far as I can tell): A single player version I have yet to beat (Time consuming and a bit boring IMO, but I prefer fast-paced uber-death action anyway, so don't let that keep you from trying it), and a normal deathmatch arena to fulfill your fragging needs. |

Well i 'm talking about the deathmatch map not the single player map i didn't even know that there was a single player map of goatswood ( it's just fun running around in a small town and shooting your adversarry)

There's a need for CTF maps...when I get back from college, I'll find some to recommend. Hope someone beats me to the punch, though. |
