Alright, my update to Overwatch. Mostly did a bunch of new meshes for corridors and tunnels, and Ignotium has helped with lighting and other small things. nice basis for a 1on1 map. I'd recommend trying a tutorial, I learned it all from: http://architectonic.planetunreal.games ... level.html This tutorial doesnt cover ALL the details, but its a very good place to start. |

The new default texture in UEd certainly looks a tad bit nicer now too.

Yeah it is. I tried a few times to map with UE2 but it didn't work out, mainly cause i hadn't a clue how to do anything. |

Thanks Bjossi, means alot. The next biggest thing i gotta figure out is how to place powerups and weapons and vials. Namely because i only have 1 large room to add and some ramps and stuff and the layout/BSP will be done. |

Old mine complex? Be carefull, caves are troublesome to make from my expierence with UT2k4. I always get basic textures on my map before going around placing stuff. Cheers up the place while working on it. But it looks really nice and I'll surely download it when I got UT3 and its finished

Oh well, i have some guys who can help me with em, plus they'd be more or less basic caves, just a rock type texture anywhere its needed. Reason being, i played a map in UT2k4 with a kind of theme like it, and it really stuck for me. Thanks B, we'll it'll be a long time til it comes out. *Update 19/01/08* I've decided to go back to my CTF map, and its gone through some major changes, now its a industrial theme, and it'll be about good enough for say 3 on 3 or 4 vs 4. In the end, it'll have at least 4 ways to cap the flag, two being on walkways that run above the middle, though you can dodge (side) to the other walkway, you can just run it through middle, which has a DoubleDamage on the bridge and then theres a underground route that takes longer, but your given a 50 shield (vest). Hopefully, i'll have pictures of it up soon, its kinda lame looking right now since 1 side is being worked on and the other is blank. |

*Update 25/01/08* Been mostly watching tutorials to learn more, + i think i'll just try and work on how to make a room/ add a bit of deco to it before i go into making maps, for i have great ideas, just not so great with the deco/ BSP part. Namely, this is because i've now figured that Geometry editing is MAJOR in mapping, which i wasn't using, so i gotta learn it. But i'll keep you in formed, except something in the coming months. |
