If you own the game, just download a copy from the Internet. Perfectly legal.

Edit:
Further research on my part indicates that it is the source alone which defines legality, so it is in fact illegal to do this no matter whether you own the game or not.

I don't really know. I'd suggest just Googling it.

Piracy is not tolerated on these parts, whether it is legal in your country or "morally correct". If you have the Anthology version just use that to install the game, there is no need to salvage an old copy if you already have a working one.

I own bouth copies. You use to be able to buy a missing disc, but not any more.
Im not pirating any thing, I only want to repair what I already legally own so I can legally install a copy on my sons computer.

Downloading copyrighted content without paying for it is piracy, it is even a grey area to buy used copies.

If I remember right all data on the CD edition of UT2004 is within uz2 files, which are archives. I could view my play disk and see what files are on there, if you want. But I still think this is a pointless exercise, as far as I know Anthology has no install limit, you can install UT2 on n number of machines.

Don't quote me on that though, I don't own Anthology nor do I play online, I only have the DRM aspect in mind. If you do need two copies for online play then I can look at my Play disk and see what files are on there.

I've actually had to do this many times. Any version of UT2004 will do. In fact, all you need to do is copy and paste, then start up that installer and feed it your CD key. Once you get the game installed you'll be able to play your copy on both machines.

You can even play online with two computers at the same time with just that one CD key.
That's why you'll see both Sergeant Kelly and Sarge_Laptop fragging it with each other. :D
