Post subject:  Bump mapping

I wanted to ask is bump mapping possible in UT2004 and I woneder if one of the BW guns use it.
For those who doesn't know bump mapping is some sort of "texture" that gives 3d details on a model.
I think RS is doing it on some models

Real bumpmapping is not possible with UT2004, so we use detail textures instead.

We used normal/bump maps for some of the guns, but you cannot use them in the engine. We used the maps and lighting in our 3d app of choice to bake a nice texture :)

Interesting, so we can't use bump maps in UT2004 :( well at least the dude who is making the UT99 SDK seems to added those features on his SDK

Quite, UT99 and 2K4 certainly didn't have support for proper bump mapping..

Although I believe 2K4 was undergoing experiments on the technology at the time, I found a normal map in one of the texture packages... ;)
