UTC developed these powerful weapons to rip apart ground targets and engage in light aerial combat, and although there where dedicated interceptors to patrol the skies, they lacked the firepower or hovering ability to rise up form behind a hill and rip apart a small base or alien horde.

N52's Data

Appearance: A Comanche/ Apache hybrid with various VTOL engines replacing the rear rotor. Dual-layer main rotor with radar unit mounted above it.

Hitpoints: The same as 2 G5 RPGs landing a direct hit.

Speed/ Agility: Able to to outrun an Axon Raptor with ease, and can turn very well at lower speeds. Although it can hover, it will take a few seconds for it to discard any previous momentum and stay still.

Offensive (Pilot): Twin chainguns mounted on the body with limited aim, and a .50 cannon mounted on turret on the nose. Can use the co-pilot's weapons if they should not be present with the use of the special function keys.

Offensive (Co-pilot): Has access to Hellreign and Skywinder missile systems, with a total of 8 missile at his disposal. The Hellreign are general-purpose, single fire heat seeking missiles, with average tracking, agility and payload.

The Skywinder missiles seek a different target, and are attuned for dogfights with much higher agility and speed than the Hellreign missiles, and a penetrating nose cone which if possible will bury itself in the target aircraft and detonating .5 seconds after it has reached the middle of the target, or cannot progress any further into its target. The explosive payload is not as big as the Hellreign, but it was designed to engage thinly-hulled aircraft, not rock-hard tanks, and the current payload is adequate of ripping apart other craft from the inside out.

The Co-pilot will automatically assume the role of Pilot should he be killed or abandon his seat. Missiles regenerate slowly, so be careful where you aim those things, otherwise you'll be out of ammo very soon.

Defensive: The radar is not just for looks. As well as identifying targets (enemy and friendly) and placing a crosshair around them (depending on team, orange if no team is found), it will alert all occupants to incoming missiles, and will attempt to hack the incoming missiles, reprogramming them to spin out on control or attack their user. The hacking will take between 5-10 seconds, as all missiles have been encased in an advanced firewalls to stop this happening. The G5 Mortars and Hellreign missiles take 5-7 seconds to hack, and Skywinder missiles take 10 seonds to hack. G5s using laser guided systems will take 10 seconds to hack.

Until the hack is complete, the pilot must evade the missiles, climbing and diving and using the sheer speed of the Sabre to stay alive. However, upon successful hack, the missiles may simply detonate instead of returning to sender or crashing, causing collateral damage to the Sabre. The hack range is only 50 metres.

Weakness The tail unit can be damaged quite easily, and if destroyed will cause the gunship to spin out of control and crash. Should this happen, the main blades will blow off and let the occupants bail out. If it is below a set height/ momentum (eg. too low for the blades to pop off in time), the occupants may survive the crash and return to the fight, albeit wounded.

The cockpit is another weak point, despite being re-enforced. A fully-charged railgun can punch through it, causing damage or death to the occupants it hits. No other weapon can penetrate the cockpit however.

M-HAWK Class's Data

Appearance: A similar size to the N52, this monster devotes all its resources into missiles, rockets and torpedoes. It too has a twin-layered rotor blade, and has a basic radar unit upon the top. It looks like a very bulky Apache, though with a hardened cockpit, which is resistant to even a fully powered railgun slug. Another way of looking at it is the flying head of the Catapult Battlemech with many more pods on it.

Hitpoints: The same as 3.5 G5 RPGs landing a direct hit.

Speed/ Agility: Not very, is the answer. It has similar agility to the Cidica, though acceleration is not on its side. Top speed is the same as an N52.

Offensive: Where do I start? It has 4 types of missiles. It has 4 of the pre mentioned Hellreign and Skywinder missiles. It also carries 6 Landstormer terrain torpedoes, which hug the ground on approach to their target. They have no guidance aside from where the crosshair was pointing at the time, and carry a very hefty payload, to maximise the area of effect. The Terrorsoar is also armed with 2 Hail swarming missile pods, which will attempt to home in on a target, albeit pathetically, though they are best suited to raining down upon a target with their small incendiary charges, saturating an area with fire. These pods are mounted on either side of the cockpit. The Landstormers are launched from Primary Fire, the Hail from Alt fire, the Hellfire from Special 1, and the Skywinder from Special 2.

Defensive: Carries the same targeting array as the N52, though instead of the hacking system, the computer will dispense flares to the 4 corners of the map to try and draw missiles away. This takes a few seconds to recharge before it will fire again.

Weakness: Again, its tail section is vulnerable to attack, but as it can turn on the spot quickly, it can protect that area with its face until the flares have launched.

Sorry for the necro (It's on the fist page, but nonetheless), but I like this idea. Seems original enough
