The Hum-Vee is a good vehicle to have.
You could include a menu that lets you change the color,
the turret, the tires, windshield and anything else.

As far as aiming for more realistic vehicles goes, well, its a mixed bag. There's a few one offs like the mentioned BTR apc. I'm personally fond of Mirage Vehicles as a more realistic touch up of the default vehicles, but the new 'hover field' effects on the manta lag the hell out of my computer.

Meowcat's Tango Down realism mod incorporates vehicles like hummers and etc that can be pulled out with Worm Motorpool, but they are rather blocky to my eyes.

The Scoripon and Warthogs from the Halo TC are decent near future vehicles, and the Marwars TC has a nice set of themed vehicles, but its messy to get your base UT game to see them and you would have to dump the TC folders into the root unreal directory.

Monarch's Advanced Armor is also good. There is an incomplete mod for classic GI Joe vehicles with some nifty tricks (like limited ammo missiles and bombs that are attached to the outside of the vehicle) but they always seems a tad twitchy to me.

I personally use a combination of Mirage Vehicles and Advanced Armor. I'd pull more stuff from XS Vehicles, except it seems half of them spawn in stuck in the ground and cannot be moved or entered. Does anyone know the solution to get around this problem? I really want to get some mechs working.
