Hello, have been for about 2 weeks already on this forum (since found out that BW existed), and since seems I'll be around here for some time decided to add a post here too.

I'm from Spain (sorry for the bad English I write sometimes), dont't really play many games, but sometimes find something that I think its good enough to be worth of my time :p so that's why I'm here. Also did some programming of mods (quake 2 and 3 tho, not unreal related and nothing serious) and from time to time work on my own small computer game projects. I'm not good at playing games, and seems writing introductions isnt better either.

Since don't know what else related add here, this was all the introduction for now.

This is actually the forum where I have the most posts now, for exactly 1 post atm !lol
Reaching 2000 posts seems impossible for me, I'm of those that read but post few. But reaching 50 is a matter of time, just a few years, ... who knows :p

Anyways, will be off for a week or two more, since my pc fried and seems I need to buy a new one.

Newer components: 1GB ddr2 667, core2 E6420 planned for possible OC later, p5n-e sli (nforce 650), geforce 8600 512mb
The remaining where old ones that already had before.
Using 64 bit GNU/Linux as OS (Debian)

Why only 1 GB of memory? That is a absolute minimum these days.

rarely used the 512 had before (only ut2004 + bw was the one that needed more iirc), my current maximum usage is 308 mb. Put 1gb instead of 512 just in prevision for UT3 and for BW !lol If UT3 really needs more than 1GB still can add another one when needed

Maybe you don't know this, but computer games happen to use memory as well. %-6

Doom 3 uses well over 512 at high settings, UT2004 performs multiple times faster with 1 GB than 512 and STALKER requires 1 GB or it will barely operate at all.

So yes, UT3 will want 1.5 - 2 GB as a minimum.

You have a very strange idea of how memory usage goes, but now you know better.
