Post subject:  Hello. Revan here.

Let's not whack around the bush here...I am Revan (well my online alias anyways), but you can simply call me Rev. I am 21 years old (I turned 21 on September 1st), should anyone care. Also, if you want a tl;dr thing, you can just read the TL;DR version and move on or say something, up to you.

TL;DR version: I'm Revan. I'm a n00b. Hi!

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, let's talk a bit of history about myself - again, should anyone care.... I've had this name ever since KoTOR came out (because I thought it was cool sounding), as you can guess. I know.... not an original name, but as I said, if you'd like, just call me Rev. All my online friends do.

But enough about names! That's a boring subject at the moment!

I have type-1 Diabetes (Diabetes, regardless of the type, is usually mistaken for type-2, the one where people are typically, and this is cruel to say, overweight. I really do feel sorry for those people, though and do not mean that term in an offensive manner), but not to worry, I've dealt with it since I was 11 years old. Though, I am as thin as a stick. Egh...

I'm a gamer by heart. Why, I remember playing Super Mario for the SNES way back when. It was fun, though those plant things freaked me out...heh. I also remember playing the original Lemmings (silly game. lol). I sadly missed out on the arcade years, pretty much. After SNES, I got the N64. Played the heck outta that thing! Also had a PSX. Awesome stuff. And then an original X-box. Those things pretty much made up my childhood.

I've been an Unreal fan since UT99. I'd usually play a lan game at my mom's office since everybody there had a copy apparently. Mom's boss would start up a lan match and I'd play with everyone on the local lan server. I was happy when mom bought Game of the Year, too. Gotta love the classics, aye?

Then, UT2003 was about to come out. I played the demo. I liked it. My mother and her work friends didn't like it because apparently it was 'slow'. Heh. Didn't buy UT2003, though. However, when I got my first ever desktop computer, it was about the time UT2004 came out. I played so much of it! Still do to this day. However, one year, CD2 to UT2004 broke in half. This was my face: :o and then ??? and then :'(

Anyways, I found that UT2004 was on Steam for a cheap price and so I bought it. Yay!

Forgot what year my official CD's broke, but nonetheless, I found BW around that time. I absolutely love this mod. So much variety and gore and yeah. I do vaguely remember the Archon stuff, but only vaguely. I think. I started playing Ballistic Weapons around 1.75 I think. Unless I am remembering incorrectly (which is highly unlikely). If that is the case, I definitely started playing it at 2.0. I am really happy it's at 2.5 now and I will always have it somewhere in my UT2004 build. I thank you guys for this awesome mod and the community for making addons for it, definitely.

Moving on from that, I also like to read, write, and draw (though my drawing degraded over the years. I use to draw mean stick figures! :D). I haven't got caught up on reading much lately. I still haven't finished my small copy of Tom Clancy's: End War that I got in 2008. As for writing...I mainly type now-a-days, but I'll still pick up a pencil or pen here and there and write on it, which could lead to me getting carpel tunnel, but whatever.

I'm also into various media. Movies, music, and obviously....video games. I don't care much about the news, because all I hear in the mornings is about politics and everyone's just interrupting each other and it's just annoying. The only programming there I care about is the weather.

Aside from the weather, I do have a few TV shows I keep track with, so I do try and keep with the times that way (we sadly use the newspapers for Guinea pig litter. Why can't I take some of those newspapers and read up on some articles for a change? Ugh. I guess there's nothing really stopping me from asking Dad if I could read some newspapers. Stupid technology is rendering newspapers virtually useless these days and that's becoming a waste of trees.). I'm typically a movie buff, but mainly regarding action (mainly Science Fiction stuff) and drama (not Soap Opera kind of drama....ugh....) as well as comedy. :) Music really varies for me, but I mainly like metal and heavy rock. I do like pop music as well. There IS some country I vaguely like, but it's a rare occasion. You can forget about rap for the most part. Eww. If it DOES have vocals in it, I can deal, as long as they are good vocals, but to me, rap is mainly just talking to a beat...that's it. I'm also into classical (Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, etc) and orchestral (like epic movie soundtracks. John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Bear McCreary, etc, etc).

As far as video game genres go: FPS, TPS (third person shooters, those tactical games or something like GTA), TBRPG (turn-based RPG like Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics), RPG (Morrowind and Oblivion), RTS (Command and Conquer, Dawn of War, etc), Adventure, Simulators (OFP1, ArmA 1, ArmA 2 [though I don't have ArmA 2], Silent Hunter games, Flight Simulator, Jane's USAF), occasionally sports (not often. Maybe occasionally a Madden game). Uhh, that's mainly it of me.

I hope for those that did read it that they are interested and I didn't bore them. Basically, if this is a tl;dr scenario, sorry. I tend to type up books when I say things.

Basically, I should have said, "I'm Revan. I'm 21. I'm a n00b. I like games. Hi!" or maybe even shorter. "I'm Revan. I'm a n00b. Hi!"

Anyways, looking forward to see the responses. This would mark the first real time I've joined a UT mod community. Tata for now. Hope to make lots of friends here. I'll update my profile soon.

Also, you can expect me to follow the rules. I wanted to make this perfectly clear as a completely new member of this board. I am not a person who would go out of their way to break them. Should I break or even so much as bend a rule, please, inform me, as I have no intention nor any desire to break one in the future. I wish no ill will on the staff nor the members of this forum. I've read the rules carefully and I believe I am within guidelines. If I am not for any mysterious reason, I apologize, please take any necessary action. Okay, I swear, this is it. All that I am saying. Take care, please, everyone. ;D

Nice to meet you, CMGuy. And yeah, I may have gone a bit overboard. I believe in giving it my all! Sometimes I just don't know when to stop typing and I turn a simple post into a darn novel. lol  Bad habit, I guess. :)

Another KotOR fan, cool. (I noticed right away too, from your name, lol)

Although, I can agree with most of your listed game types. Never been a fan of TPS tho, and me and flight simulators disagree.

Anyways, enjoy your stay here. :)

I use to have a NES, I have no idea where that thing went.

I played Quake 3 arena once and sucked at it, but technically I only rented it from a store, so I didn't have time to refine my skills (or lack thereof. lol). But thankfully, one of my close friends, whom I consider a brother, gave me a copy of Quake 3 Arena along with Quake 3 Team Arena. Pretty fun stuff.

After I played UT99 for the first time, I was hooked. Unreal is just so awesome. :D

Don't remember if I played Jazz Jackrabbit 2, though. I might have.

Yep. :D Love KotOR.

And ah, people have their preferences, so I respect that. I just play those third person shooters to pass the time, really. As for flight sims, I'm terrible at those. Again, mainly just piddle around in those.

He may not have to but I certainty enjoyed reading it. an introduction is what builds character. he could have simply put "Basically, I should have said, "I'm Revan. I'm 21. I'm a n00b. I like games. Hi!" or maybe even shorter. "I'm Revan. I'm a n00b. Hi!"" but he didn't because he wanted us to know about him. and know that i know him Id like to say hi dude :banana-dance:

That sounds delicious! :) Much better than the fried organ, blood, and skin sandwiches that you can get at The River Styx Bar and Grill. I might check those places out. Thanks for the recommendations!

Also, I've been to Hell before, but it's nice to be back. Limbo and Heaven just weren't what they were cracked up to be. The dark gods didn't want my blood...unless I didn't meet the right dark gods, but greetings back to you regardless! 8)

Howdy!

Quite a thorough introduction!
I think I'll call you 'Rev.'.

+1 Glory Points(TM) for not watching TV and news, its shit (at least here it is), and don't worry about not reading the sodding newspaper. :handgestures-thumbupright: Though technology hasn't rendered them completely useless, last I checked my Ethernet cable couldn't soak up hamster shit.

And don't worry about the rules, if you break them, we'll send round a Romanian hit-man with a porcelain exploding radioactive gnome (PERG) to sort you out! :naughty:
