how are you doing this BTW? are you editing the Doom.wad? (if so, what programs are you using?) Raziel P.S everything looks awesome! P.P.S hmmm... BFG... what about the green plasma cannon? (I cannot remember what weapon pack it is from but that is about right for it) |

Nup, this is a completely different wad that wont replace anything. Can you get a picture of this, maybe i can get it. Also, is anyone running Doom using Skulltag? If so, it has extra weapons that ill do, like a railgun, minigun and grenade launcher. -- OCA Edit: THERE IS AN EDIT #&@(!ING BUTTON. STOP IGNORING IT. LAST WARNING ON THIS. |

I cant add all the maps, if i distributed it, it would be giving the game out for free I would suggest getting Skulltag. It lets you play Doom 1 and 2, Final Doom, Heretic, and Hexen online for free, as long as you own Doom. And with it, its simple to play wads, its just a matter of dragging the wad, onto Skulltag.exe All the info is here: http://skulltag.com/ ![]() ![]() Im thinking of maybe editing a few monsters aswell. Ive always found it odd that the story says "all personnel are killed or turned into zombies. ", yet not one of the enemies slightly resembles Doomguy. |

Raziel P.S my last post on this thread, so best of luck ![]() Here's why he can't just do it like you want. One of the rules here states for not distributing illegal files. If he did give a version of this that had the whole game, it's an illegal distribution of the game since it was originally packaged at a retail price. Until the game is distributed for free by the original developer, he can't make a release of the whole game. |

Kick ass sweet maple gravy awesome sauce. This is like a wet dream come true to me. Do want. I may have some images for you that would be handy for a BWized punching sprite. Ironically the animation was based off the Doom sprite. ![]() Don't remember how many frames were in the fists at the moment, but I have a bunch for you to use. If these won't do, I can just get you the fist weapon and you can gather your own images. |

OCAdam wrote: If he did give a version of this that had the whole game, it's an illegal distribution of the game since it was originally packaged at a retail price. Right, I did not explain myself properly. I meant to say "will this have it's own maps in the .WAD file? or will it work alongside the Doom.WAD?" if the later then I will not be able to use it on my DS... which is the main attraction (to me)... Would that be illegal, uploading the doom.wad? I thought the game requires more files to run then that (like the following: Doom95.exe, doomcfg.dll, doomipx.dll, doomlnch.dll, doommdm.dll and finally doomser.dll (just an after thought, are some of those made when Doom95.exe is used?)) (I mean no offense, I'm just curious) Raziel P.S awwww, screw what I said in my last P.S... |

Considering that you could just find the full versions of the rest of the game files online, it is illegal since that is a complete file that is basically the game. If it was something where it was all custom maps and not retail maps, it would be allowable. |

Looking quite spiffy I must say. ![]() deadly_game wrote: EDIT again: I need your opinion on this, should i add this guy, and replace the shotgun guy with him? Sounds good to me. ![]() As for Doom wads and all that legal stuff, the wad is really the only thing copyright nowadays. You can find any number of frontends/engines that will run the game using nothing but the files the frontend comes with plus the wad to the game. Some possibilities for your predicament, Raziel, would be to A.) ask really nicely for him or someone else to include the Shareware wad in it (which should be quite legal), B.) ask someone really nicely (and privately) to combine the files with the maps, C.) there might be something called OpenDoom which is essentially a recreation of the Doom stuff only all content was remade, thus skirting around legalites (not sure on that one and it really doesn't seem like its still fully legal) or lastly, D.) combine the files yourself into one wad. Once you get the proper tools, I don't think it'd really be that hard to do it, but I don't really know off hand. |

The obvious choice would be to do the EVPC 9000 plasma cannon for the BFG. That's the gun I based it off of in the first place. :p |

Right, I am not making myself clear. I have doom (see below). ![]() I don't know any tools which can edit a .WAD file, if someone could tell me where I could download such a tool and how to merge it I would greatly appreciate it. Raziel P.S that's the one I meant, I could not remember the name for the life of me. Sergeant Kelly wrote: The obvious choice would be to do the EVPC 9000 plasma cannon for the BFG. Im using XWE to edit Doom2, it lets you create wads, and edit existing ones. But once youve edited a Wad like Doom.wad, or Doom2.wad, its impossible to roll back changes. Im sorry if im repeating myself, but once again i have to suggest Skulltag. With that, all you need to do it direct SKulltag to your Doom.wad, and then you just drag BW.wad (when its released) onto Skulltag.exe, and its away. Plasma Cannon? Ill give it a look, sounds awesome. |

It's not a problem that you have the original game and such, Raziel. The problem at hand is a public release of the maps. So... there's where I was getting at. |

Alright, with the SSG done, i think im finished. Anyone want to test? You need a way to play Doom 2 wads, like the fore mentioned Skulltag, or Zdoom. Send me PM, and ill send a link when i can ![]() As ive stated before: There are no new sounds, the hand blades make the same noise as a chainsaw. Some effects like muzzle flashes arent easy, and ive tried to make them good. And some models didnt translate well to 2d, like the SSG. If your choice on playing it supports console commands: summon chainsaw summon shotgun summon supershotgun summon plasmarifle summon chainsaw summon rocketlauncher summon bfg9000 and: summon zombieman summon shotgunguy |

Awesome! Right: my report. Fist: Spot on... which begets the question, where are the fists on real UT2004:BW? Chainsaw (sirthblades) I would not remove the hand not in use but move it down and to the left/right respectively, as it is the hands disappear and reappear to quickly (I know you only have 2 frames to work with on this one so this is a tad harsh) Pistol: at first, I did not like the choice of pistol however after thought, it is the best for the choice; it's rate of fire is about right, it's a good size, and the sound is not far off anyway (which is good seems as though you did not edit the sound) Shotgun: very good, only issue is that when shooting the air (I accidentally killed all the bad guys before I found this) I noticed that the character does not actually pump the shotgun, just puts in new shells (I assume this is due to a lack of frames to work with, so not really a problem, I'm just being picky) SuperShotgun: again, like the pistol not my favorite weapon for the slot, but after thought the best choice for the weapon slot. only problem is flash cuts off end of the barrels Chaingun: Good weapon choice for the slot, only one problem; the screen on the gun shakes when firing (I mean the screen itself moves where as the "monitor" does not), it shifts one pixel to the right when mid way through the firing sequence. Rocket launcher: perfect... um... maybe shading the flash a little if you want to get picky, but I would not bother, it is one frame out of about seven (less than 20%); again, only if you want to be picky Plasma gun: only one problem, when the gun stops firing and goes to the cooling frame, the iron sight at the end is missing... again, a fault I only picked up as I am picky... perfect otherwise BFG9000: absolutely amazing... there is the flash problem as you say, but that is nothing really, you don't notice it when in the middle of a fight BFG10K: Attachment: DOOM0001.png Conclusion I LOVE IT! Well done, best one man mod ever! Seriously I recommend everyone to go out and get a copy of doom, just to play this; you cannot truly call yourself a BW fan if you never play this. If RS had a "Classic Game Mod" section you would be king of it!Raziel P.S now... how to merge this with Doom.wad for ds play... P.P.S also don't forget a readme.txt in the final release, I forgot how to run it and had to check the thread N.B I checked for you, it works on all of the official Classic Doom Games (Final Doom, Ultimate Doom and Doom 2) |
