Post subject:  Let's talk about the Skirth
As I played BW, I became quite fascinated with the BW Universe's villians such as the Skirth, Krao, and Cryons.

I've been pondering a lot about this question. How could the Skirth be such a huge threat to the Terrans when they only have an A73 that's incredibly inaccurate if you go beyond close range, melee weapons, a low powered energy pistol, and blades? The Skirth do have the A49, A500, and A73-E but BW wiki says that they were all very rare. The Skirth may be masters at stealth and have Kraos and Cryons but the Terrans have far superior weapons. How could the Skirth enslave a whole race and gain the respect to the point where a whole race offers themselves to be soldiers for the Skirth when they have such a limited choice of weapons?

Well when your officers are assassinated by troops with the best energy armor this side of the galaxy, moral tends to drop a bit. The E23s, LS14s, and other plasma weapons the UTC used were almost useless against them.

I think number does alot as well, as aliens work differently from humans biologically there are always a variety of reasons for them to win. There is physical ability and tactics... technology is never a lone factor unless it's written by L. Ron Hubbard.

They sound like a combo of, A halo Elite (the energy sword ones) and a predator (the cool ones you know what im talking about?)
but that's just my interpretation and its the only thing i found fitting to compare it to.
personally i love this idea, that no one knows what they look like. i have a few thoughts id like to share, but this is my opinion im not saying its right ;)

The Skirth do not like to be seen, as they believe that no other race that is defying them deserves to know anything about them, they do not want any UTC to be able to find and dissect a Skirth corpse (to find weaknesses and advantages against them) there for, apone retreat, they destroy there body's by means of a "dead mans switch" attached to there vital system, which apone death, effectively destroys the body, with no traces left behind.

weapons, the Skirth fear their own weapons, that's why we don't see as many, they would rather destroy their own weapons then let them fall into the hands of the enemy., that's why we only know of a few skirth weapons, for all we know there could be many many more types of weaponry
because of a failed destroying method for there weapons.

Melee: the Skirth are a proud race, they rather kill there target by means of there own skill. not relaying on a ranged weapon. this brings in the idea, that maybe the more kills a Skirth soldier has by melee, the high up on the races royalty chain

they also remind me of pharaohs taking slaves and destroying races.

but this is just my opinion hope you like it :D i rather enjoy this theory i have made for my self to make bw very interesting.

The mystique stuff always drives me insane. :angry-banghead:

I always thought of the Skirth as a genetic cousin of the Skaarj; They both are really aggressive and have the belive that they are superior to all other races, enslaved races, and prefer melee combat. The skaarj raziks and A909 Skirth Wrist Blades also seem incredibly similar.

I love mysteriousness of Skrith. Never knowing what they look like until its too late, always staying just out of sight... makes for an awesome, mysterious enemy.

To paraphrase something I heard before, the monster will never be as scary as it was before you seen it.

In keeping with the topic, the Skrith are ambiguous; we'll never know what they look like, leaving our imaginations to do all the work, that in my humble and honest opinion, is what makes a good enemy/ending in video games, creating fear, confusion and the wonders of imagination.

I think that they are genetic products of a Skarrj and Slith, hence Skrith.
