Not yet, we're doing it one weapon at a time for v10, though we do have some other things done or well in progress.

We've 4 replies away from 4,000 posts.
We're only a couple thousand views away from one-hundred thousand views.
We're rapidly approaching the 4 year anniversary of this mod.

Also some bad news!

Our modeling program, Blender, is exporting all of our models with bad smoothing! This means the models we show in our pictures end up plastic-like and gross ingame. We currently cannot find a fix for it which is seriously hampering our progress.

Would rendering out side of blender help, or with blender cycles.

I didn't like V9, sorry, too much heavy stuff. I'd prefer something like a SMG, and seems nobody did it...

(And the machine pistol is a machine pistol, not a two-handed SMG)

We can't really take requests. Right now we're trying to figure out which ones we have to cut just so we can get this done with our limited team.

I'm not sure. We're browsing FPSBanana for already made models for as many of the weapons as we can, but as of this moment, I am the only animator. Blade Sword is learning though, but he has ran into a (hopefully) little problem. Though it probably could have been averted if he had listened to my advice when I gave it. *angry glare*




I'm not sure if it would. The models look fine in blender, but in UT2004 the smoothing goes to poop. Can these methods help set up the smoothing groups? I think that's ultimately the problem with this. Somehow split edges is supposed to fix our problem (at least in UT3/UDK) but so far that didn't accomplish any more than me having to redo the skin weights.

The PK2000, which was made by Man_Slayer, is indeed going in. We need to fix his UV map first though.

Don't like World War 2 weapons.

You sound rather picky with your guns, Strelet.

Not sure about picky, I have perfectionism disorder (OCD) and it's fine, just gets annoying sometimes.

And well, even if I'm a big man I prefer small guns like SMGs and Assault Rifles than heavy weapons.

Ah, well, this next pack should have stuff you should enjoy then. I'm not sure about SMGs other than the MP40 and maybe PK2000 (not sure if that was an SMG or SAR), but we got a couple assault rifles and pistols being worked on and planned.

it might be not the right thread to ask for but still, i have a question about a work done by you in the past.

Its about the combat chainsaw. A year or 2 ago, i found on this forums a link for this weapon. But the link isn't existing anymore i guess. Is there a way to get onto this weapon ? Do you will include this weapon in Sergeant Kelly's Weapon Pack ? Same question about the chainsaw sword, both were awesome and funny to use

Oh those were old old stuff I played around with. They haven't been messed with for years. But the good news is yes, one of them will make an appearence in v10.

I got told that the Chainsword was not going to make it (sadly, I'll miss screaming "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" while using it) but a simple, ordinary chainsaw would.

You are not the only one. I always wanted to see more futuristic weapons over ancient ones. I just never said anything about it out of fear of sounding like a dick. The dev's wanted to make them and the fans wanted use them. Who was I to stop them?

On the subject of SMG's I'm not so critical of one being added but if the PK2000 makes it in, oh yes please make it a dual wieldable SMG! As far as SAR's go, I think we have a good enough collection already.

A chainsaw sword might make it in yet. The thing is, my chainsaw sword was just a quick model that I an not real happy with, while I actually have a fully modeled and detailed monster chainsaw done and animated. But it wouldn't take me terribly long to redisgn a new chainsaw sword if I had to. I even have a warhammery chainsaw axe modeled. We'll decide which one to use when we get to it.

Ancient weapons? We have all of two prototypes that are WW2 based and the prototypes are hardly indicative of the final product. There are also around 8 high tech energy prototype so I really don't get what you're trying to say.

For V10 we are including the PK2000 and potentially the MP40. No other Smgs are planned at this time.

I just wonder if it's not about standard assault weapons ...
