im waiting for diablo 3 getting released and battle chess 2012 . and hopefully rooks keep gets released this year ^_^ anyways i just wanted to know what games you guys are looking forward to being released

This year.. I'm actually not sure what's coming. Diablo 3 and hopefully Doom 4 would be nice

I'm looking forward to the next Mass Effect, though I'm unsure if there's anything else.

Dishonored I think and eventualy STALKER 2 but that one is probably utopic

Soul Calibur V... pretty much it.

The one game I'm NOT looking forward too is the new Devil May Cry game... aside from one of the most horrible redesigns (twice) of a main character, the gameplay's not as fast as Devil May Cry 3 and 4 to an extent.

I seriously hope Team Ninja proves me wrong.

Soul Calibur 5, kinda. Some of the changes I read about sound like they're trying to bring it more toward street fighter style gameplay, which I hate.

But if player customization is better I might be able to look past that.

And naturally, I wanna play Rook's Keep!

Ironically, I hate Street Fighter, but like the new mortal kombat game, which uses the Street Fighter 4 system.

Hopefully Soul Calibur V will rock.

Oh, and hope the new Mario Party 9 will be good too.

I know that but they aren't 100% dead I'm waiting the mid january annoucement to see if it's cancelled or not

Very good news regarding STALKER 2, but there is still a bit of uncertainty. I hope the project will get the funding it needs.

Is a game series released regularly automatically bad? I'd agree normally, but I rather like AC games It does still play like a game at least and lasts longer than 3 hours

Seeing as how the latest assassin's creed is a combination of the first one and the Bortherhood, its not surprising it didn't take that long...

All they had to do was take all the content they already have and make a new game with it, how is that bad, it'll still be a new game...

I think it's important to remember that there are no clear rules, everything has grey areas, especially the gaming industry...

Unreal 3 or Unreal HD (although it seems a dream ).

There really isn't much that I'm looking forward to. Only two games:

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City - Seeing as this takes place during the events of 2 and 3 and RE2 was my favorite (G-Virus FTW), I'm definitely stoked. I was one of the few who was disappointed with the change and direction 4 went with.

Darksiders 2 - I really enjoyed the first one. Assuming Doom 4 doesn't come out this year, this is going to be my Doom 4.

Aside from that, nothing off the top of my head pops up. I want to try to make maps and mutators for UT2004 (specifically for the BW mod), but I dunno where to start just yet.

My impression of resident evil is a poor horror game, but I only know 4 and 5, perhaps the others were less arcade like?... Still those weren't bad...

The ones before 4 and 5 were definitely not arcade like. Ammo/Resource management was essential to surviving (especially against larger foes and bosses). There weren't any quick-time events (that's the big thing that upset me about RE4). Even though there are weapons and ammo in the earlier games, they weren't given away like I felt they were in RE4. Even if someone found the most powerful gun (outside of unlockables that is) in the game they still had the odds against them.

In fact, one of the many resources that were important in RE games prior to 4 was typewriter tape. Without it, there was no way to save the game (using typewriters in safe rooms provided save points).

One of the downsides to the earlier games was the awkward control scheme and camera angles that took some time to get used to. They fixed both (the controls to some extent) in 4. That's about the only praise I can give 4. I never played 5.

I'm not waiting for anything. Cep't perhaps Skyrim DLCs. I'm pretty content with what games I have now and I think I will need a system upgrade before I can buy any more.

Well... i WAS waiting for ME3. Until they said origin only. Now they can suck the sweat after a long days running off the least attractive parts of my body.
