Oh, I did notice the bots did seem to get stuck on the ammo packs? It looks like they try to go for them even if their ammo is full, but sometimes I saw them just staying where one normally spawns when it's not even there.

I also noticed the animation on characters arms seem to lock in place (they look abnormal when swimming but it's nothing too severe, looks like this was intended) but I did notice that reloading or switching weapons or whatever returns the animation to normal. (This is with bLocalDisableAnimation=True)

Hm, and another thing. Since the over-the-shoulder 3rd person feature was adding I've been using it, it would be great if you could fix the crosshairs to stay active even when you use sights in third person? Or if that can't be done just add an option to always keep crosshairs active?

And an updated note, I think the bots getting stuck was a confliction with another mod (that disables certain pickups) And I haven't noticed it happen very often on other maps I've played on. In fact I only noticed it on one map I made. (Though this started happening AFTER the update)

And one more bug that's bothered me a bit with the MRT6 and M290 shotguns, with the cock on first bring-up disabled they have to cock when only using one barrel (and yet you can fire BOTH barrels just fine like normal) Cocking it or firing fixes the issue but yeah.

Suggestion, what about to add akimbo mode for MRT6 like in BW Extreme? They dual are really fun to use, about balance I think they are good - 4 shotguns rounds turn enemy into colander, but long rechambering time compensates this. Also I reated this by myself earlier than in BWX without any coding skills - just change BallisticWeapon to BallisticHandGun and add in defaultproperties SupportHandBone="Bone-Arm"

Regarding cock on bringup - it's a gameplay killer. Weapons that are left around in an arena gametype for players to pick up would rationally be completely ready to use, perhaps with a safety on or something. I cannot reconcile a design choice which punishes you for switching to a new weapon you've never yet used in combat by forcing it to cock, just to show off an animation which gets played when you empty the mag and reload anyway.

What I originally tried to do with this was to have it so that cock on bringup was a completely individual option - that is, if you joined a server with it enabled, your weapons would cock, and the inverse would be true, so that if you wanted to take years to bring a weapon up and have a random delay when you switch to a weapon you've never used yet, you could, but I would enjoy blowing the living hell out of you. However, it's impossible to make that work if the BallisticPlayer is off, because information needs to be accessible to the weapon server and clientside at the very moment of creation. Otherwise, I would be forced to add a check for singleplayer - this shitty option should never be allowed in multiplayer.

I honestly don't see the fuss over this feature. It cannot be stated enough how it murders the gameplay. I've just checked both CoD and Battlefield and neither series was foolish enough to add cock on bringup, so I don't see why it needs to exist here either. The only way it should be allowed to exist is with a combined cocking and bring-up animation which takes exactly the same time as a normal bringup.

The MRT-6 really doesn't need this kind of buff at all. A single MRT-6 double shot pumps out 600 damage (25 base * 24 pellets). Adding a cheap hipfired 1200 damage will overpower it even more than it already is.

Firstly, it should be the players choice if they want their gameplay killed. So if it is possible to make, I would like to see it. Even if it was only in offline play.

Secondly - if that is possible to do and not too complicated - how about a compromise where only the first weapon you bring up after spawn is cocked? Because of the spawn protection that would mean you don't get killed from cocking. And I personally always found this nicely balanced out the advantage from spawning - especially in loadout gameplay.

I'm with Baroynx on this on, Azarael. And not everyone plays online multiplayer, which is why I'm extensively testing on Instant Action matches.

And in Black Ops 2, you do cock the gun/turn the laser on/flip open a sight when you first grab an enemy's weapon, the M27 AR comes to mind.

I understand it's a gameplay killer, but that should be left by player choice, not a forced mandate.

I found a bug "You can't carry more 'insertname'", when I try to pickup same gun, that I already has, (I play without limits for weapons, and can pickup another sidearms), for example if I has a RS8 I can't pick another RS8, but can pickup MD24, Skrith Blaster, etc, this bug can be replicated in conflict or just loadout - spawn with 2 same sidearms, when drop another one, and try to pick it you will get that "You can't carry more 'insertname'", and you will lose that second gun.

About cocking on bringup, I think this good only for first weapon that selected on player spawn, but when this cocking animation is playing for any picked up-selected from inventory weapon is annoying, especially frustrating (that FUUUU meme) when you select from depleted weapon to another and get killed because you cant fire when cocking anim is playing.

Unfortunately, we are looking to make this a better game that plays well online with the hope that we actually could have some sort of online community. An online community would help increase the popularity of BW and increase its user count, which is what we really want to do.

We'll be looking into a way to make you guys happy with some sort of cock on pull up, but our priority will always be to make the game play better.

The best looking solution would be to make like how in other games there is a combined pullup/cocking anim like what we've done for a couple weapons in Recolors, but I really have no intention to spend a lot of time adding a new animation for every weapon to do this.

So we'll see. Its something we'll be looking into, but please do realize its a feature that a fairly small amount of players would be interested in compared to the time we could spend adding new things like a brand new gamemode or BW guns mounted on vehicles, things that everyone would enjoy.

I'm always keen on having new guns in Ballistic Weapons.

If it the case, I'll live with it.

Xavious pointed out a solution to the original implementation that I was missing.

Cock on bringup option reinstated. Its setting works online and offline, but it will only affect you. Other players on a server with cock on bringup disabled will not have their weapons cock.

Might be a nitpicky request but could you put in an oldschool version of the M735 shotgun (I think I got the number wrong) that works like the original one? Because I always liked the feeling of the big cocking animation after the shot and it just being a shotgun and nothing else.
Surely the gas is a nice addition gameplay wise but... could you?

By the way, thank you so much for working so much on this. This is easily one of my TOP favorite mods in UT2004 which I still play so much even today. :3 (I still have yet to really learn how to actually script other than doing minor tweaks to code and changing default properties and stuff)

I have found a few problems.

1) perhap the spawn distance for projectiles on projectile weapons.
2) the acidgun is not balanced well it shoots way too far (it should be sort of like even more acidy somewhat otherwise high overall damage maye, should shoot farter then original, double shot should reach targets farther somewhat (the 1 ammount of load is used to fire the acid and includes the acid).
3) hamr was kind of ok originally with its speed and all that it should have been modified similar to how i did earlier (with optin for indirect fire aiming)
4) u shouldnt have wasted time with teambased selection and killstreaks instead just make weapons be carried y weight along with amo and this would be a new seletion mode, perhaps replacing conflict selection mode, pick up stuff by use button
5) suppressor works according to weapon special, so the animation is interrupted by shooting
6) the railgun has the scope removed after shots (wich is fine), but it doesnt get preferably rised back cripling utilization, when the gun is empty, at the last shot, the scope stays up.
7) cocking the weapon still ejects brass doesnt consume ammo (was intended earlier for something like missfire, although it is a free modification).
the minimung works weird, if it is on 3600 rpm lets say pushing the fire button just to shoot single shot then seeing how the barrels slow down then pushing the fire button again, and it would recquire significant delay before it could shoot. (wich is not the case when fired from stationalry mode and it must be easier to accerlerate from nonstationary mode. minigun should start firing faster then it currently does, and upon release the loaded barrels must be still shot. with each pull, all the loaded barrels must be shot. (feeding stops). although this all is for free.

What server packages do I need to use/replace with this fix?

EDIT: Installed it, just having a small bug; I get two entries for the same gamemode, like "Ballistic CTF" appears two times. Why is that? Something in the "System" folder?

I do use Kelly's Weapon Packs if that matters.

This is both the unofficial fix and the core fix. It went Core Fix -> Unofficial Fix -> Ballistic Weapons Fix. They all represent the same line of development.

Duplicate gametypes are caused by having a copy of BallisticV25.ucl still present in your System folder. If you have both stock BW and this version installed, duplicate gametypes are unavoidable.

I've installed Jack carver's weapon pack along with the unofficial fix and the other weapon pack. Renamed files, deleted duplicates as appropriate in the system folder, yet in the swapping menu none of the bonus pack weapons are marked for swapping, only the default ballistic v25 weapons are marked. Even though the bonus weapons are listed in the swaps section of BallisticFix.ini. Anything I've done wrong?

Post UT2004.log from an instance where you try to configure BW. If the weapons don't show, either the .ucls for their packs are missing or there's a file missing.

I have noticed something new on the Loadout menu, there are now three options I can cross and they're coloured yellow, red and blue respectively (unless it's yellow, blue and red).

When I tick on the red one, reds don't have it neither blue. If I tick yellow, reds and blue have it. What are these crosses for? Are they bugged?

The red and blue ones are used by Ballistic Team Loadout. The yellow ones are used by Ballistic Loadout. I wrote an implementation of Team Loadout for the fix, so if you have Skorpion's version, uninstall it, as if they have the same mutator name, issues may result.

I really like the gameplay changes in this mod.
But unfortunally I have two issues with playing it online/LAN:
- clients have no HUD(and can not(!) change the HUD settings shown in the image) and they cant see the weapon and hand.
- If you have no weapons in your Ballistic Conflict Loadout chosen (or only wepons, which are not avaiable), with activated evolution mode, you get a completely random weapon; you also get weapons, which should not be avaiable(because of evo-mode).

I hope my explanations were understandable; I know that my english is not perfect .

So I found a bug with the ballistic vehicles fix that this fix provides, crashing the game as soon as vehicles spawn with the error message "assertion failed" and points to the Rhino. I can remove the BallisticVehicleFix files and just use the original BallisticVehicles from v2.5 and it works, but figured I'd report this crash and see if the dev is still around to fix it.
