Actually that's not an Uzi in the top pic...it's a MAC. Not sure if it's a 10 or 11...looks like a jury-rigged setup but still interesting.

There have actually been full auto shotguns. There are select fire varients of the USAS-12 (though semi-auto only are the most common versions), which is actually a very easy to control weapon due to it's size and certain internal features.

There's also the AA-12, which can take 20 round drums and fires full auto. I believe current versions don't have a semi-auto mode, since it's easy enough to just "tap" it for a single shot (slow rate of fire). However, I may be mistaken on that.

The Pancor Jackhammer is probably the most famous full auto shotgun. It's unique 10 round rotary drum was a simple way of avoiding the problem of a plastic shell melting in the magazine due to the heat from the chamber. There were only two fully automatic prototypes made, and the company never secured any contracts for them. Thus, they went under.

The H&K CAWS was another project that went under, and it featured semi-automatic and three round burst fire modes.

@Gnome Smasher: Yes, I've thought about a shot-minigun before. I cal it the geravelcannon. But it's kinda an over-the-top idea, and I don't ever expect to see it ingame.

And for the triple-barrel: Methinks making a break-open would be the coolest way to do it.

Also, I think the reloading for the pump-action shotguns could be sped up a little. . .like 20-25%. Right now, I usually just empty them out and then toss them.

Break-open triple barrel would definitely be best. I would love to see that make it in BW.

Good ol' Ancient Quake 2. That was a fiarly big mod.
It stared out with ancient weapons, then adopted a horde of modern ones, then some magical ones... It had featues like reloading, brass, etc... We even had monsters and you could spawn creatures and there was an RTS style gametype where you commanded monsters. It had about 30 maps.
It was not very proffesional, though and was never completed, but could make an interesting download.
