Well i found a mut that enables Bloom effects in UT2k4.

Also don't extract the zip file right away, since there is an unnecessary folder in it.

*This mut is very heavy on your CPU/ GPU, use only if you have a really good rig!*

Bloody hell, that does indeed look very good.
But you'll need a video card that supports bloom, and a pretty fast processor to handle the performance hit.

Thats a given. When i get my gaming rig in the next few months, this mutator is so going on it. Also, Bjossi can you please post some screens using this! I'd love to see more of it.

This mutator is pretty buggy, the bloom mesh overlaps the 1st person weapon model so it gets a transparent kind of look.

But other than that it looks pretty good. And I can't find any good spot where the bloom is obvious...

really? Well that sucks. Bet DC could have a lookie and see why its so buggy, in his free time of course.

Are you by any chance stating your video card's opinion?

my video card is widley hated by anyone with a comeputer..... sometimes i have issues with DOOM...... but i mena there pretty and evertything but.... there subtle at best

Doom doesn't use video cards.

Can you name some games that rely on the video card more then the processor?

Most games do, nothing else needed to say.

If you can barely play doom, why in Gods name do you even try running UT2k4, let alone BW!

If he can't run Doom smoothly, there is no way UT2004 will even start up.

I can't run doom either, but I can play games like Quake 4 'n stuff. I blame windows.

These bloom effects look cool and all, but... I don't need that good of graphics to see my opponent, just a sniper scope. ^_^

i dont try to run ut04........ i go to xavious's to play

I admit that UT2004 is the only game where I prefer to not have advanced graphics because of the fast action.
Serious Sam 2 however, can get away with both look good and have bearable gameplay & action at the same time.

this mutator turns my screen white =/ (i cant see any thing)

bloom works in other games for me......

How do you know if your video card is bloom capable?

Echo i dont think this is real bloom......
more of just custom settings (to make it look like bloom), i say this because my card supports bloom and this doesnt work for me. the download is small just try it for your self.

Theres one problem with me trying it out. I lost my copy of ut04 and i had to do a destructive restore

Maybe its a Mac bug. And it is a real bloom mutator. Even though as bjossi pointed out, its very buggy.

Not very, I have only seen that one bug.
But James, that sounds like a Mac bug to me. Too bad, it looks pretty good in-game.
