That is a brand new discussion, actually. I'm surprised it wasn't done sooner, since that is one of the few logical ways you can freeze surfaces and liquids quickly.

I think that a physics volume should be created by the weapon in a sphere form. This physics volume makes surfaces look different and make them have less friction. And if the volume intersects a water volume, then it changes the touched watervolume. (and a bit around it,)

Well, what people are talking about now sounds like an Ice Flamethrower, all it would take would be a small edit of the current flamethrower's code.

Though I'd still rather see an Ice Missile launcher than an ice spraying weapon, missile launchers feel more controlled and powerful.

A missile with a different kind of payload. Instead of having a Hige Explosive payload it could have a violate, supercooled chemical payload. That way it would fit in with the current weapon theme of ballistic and scientific weapons.

Hm, maybe you could fill the missile with liquid hydrogen or oxygen (or a mixture of both, which incidentally also is a type of rocket fuel). The vapor is (highly) flammable ("Hydrogen and air mixtures within the flammable range can explode and may burn with a pale blue, almost invisible flame.") So basically you could first temporarily freeze someone (or at least slow them down) by hitting them with a liquid hydrogen/oxygen rocket or grenade, and then set them on fire while they can't move. Theoretically, anyway.

What about Oxygen, it burns blue if hot enough or something like that, my science teacher showed us it last year.
