a small robot that can follow you and shoot at close enemies, or just walk around and shoot at any enemy on sight. you can only carry 3 of those with you, they have 40 health, and a mini high refire(4 shots per second) railgun. each shot doing 10 damage, and a accuracy of 25% at long range, 50% at mid range and 60-100% at close range.

primary fire: walks everywhere
secondary fire: stays close to you and protects you
special fire: call the robots to you, so you can pick them up

so... what do ya guys think

overpowered, if you trow some around then you will certainly win the match. It should either be a superweapon or changed alot. With that I mean the weapons damage, if you see such thing it shoots you down in 2 seconds if you are unarmored. And three of them is just mayham.
I suggest damage of 5 each shot... and make them look like the robots in Doom3. So 6 legs and make them climb up walls of 70' max (angle) ^^

I agree with Bulska. After deploying all of them you have more firepower than you'd have with any other weapon, and you can use any other weapon. Meh, its just overpowered.

How is this overpowered? 40 health seems pretty fair to me, it'd make you able to kill them pretty quickly.

And remember, their damage may be high, but you won't get hit very often if you just keep your ass moving.

Drones should never have hitscan weapons. I suggest something like the Skrith pistol's energy projectiles, so that you can actually dodge them. Apart from that little gripe, I'm all for this idea!

Bots can have hitscan weapons, so why shouldn't drones have that ability too?

could work but I think the robots skill should depend on the other bot skill. (Novice, Masterfull, Godlike and such)

yeah but lets keep a limit on it like with the spider mines. just thinking of a whole swarm of those things makes me scared.

Well, hitscan is generally frowned upon for being impossible to dodge, and having a swarm of little drones spamming impossible-to-avoid fire everywhere is sure to get annoying.

That's stupid, this is just a lame excuse if you don't like losing.
Simply keep moving and the hitscan tracers will land on the walls most of the time, sheez.

Well, as long as the drones aren't with ShinRyuu accuracy, I'd go for the hitscan.

as long their accuracy, firepower and strenght depends on bot skill... some noob players dont know how to dodge... (not me)
So if you set the skill level high, easy to avoid the little drones, but on Godlike ur just dead.

The droids will use the pathnodes if you ask them to patrol the map, but I doubt they'll move as fast and be as healthy as the bots in their usual health-status.

the only thing skill(novice-->godlike) will change is the accuracy. so with godlike they are almost robotic sniperz.

Someone had a robot gun or something idea a while ago, i liked that one more than this one.

I'd rather see something more among the lines of an automated turret gun. One that the player can control somewhat and that won't overpopulate a game.

A small robot would probably get stuck often or fall off edges in maps.

That is just guessing, and DC could easily fix those kind of bugs I bet.

I'm basing it off of UT's own bots. There are loads of problems that could arise, like improper path noding and jamming. DC would have to do a lot of work to make them function smoothly.

You know what? Maybe Epic should hire DC to be their AI coder in the future. He obviously would do a better job than the current AI coder, you just have to play Instant Action to figure out that fact.

Honestly, with how good this mod is, a career in games programming is not something I'd be suprised to see the RS brothers in in the near future.
