Guess what- laws against murder won't stop them from murdering, so why do you think that laws against citizens owning guns will stop them from having a gun?


Also, another person armed with a gun is not the only acceptable case in which to use a gun in self defense. A person bigger than me who is coming after me, for example.

Yes, in fact, I support being unarmed 100% of your every day life.
I can't imagine how someone can enjoy life when all you think about is that there might be a threat around a corner. I'd want to live my life without thinking about that stuff and just enjoy what I do like taking walks, shopping for some stuff in a mall, etc.

My point is, there is no life in being paranoid all day carrying a gun. The feeling of such level of paranoia has either mental roots, unfortunate past, or you took an overdose of crystal meth.

My good sir, I must ask you, what makes you think that someone who carries is paranoid? Personally, I don't think anyone's out to attack me. Just like being prepared is all. I don't expect to crash my car, but I wear my seatbelt. I also don't expect to get a flat, but I have a spare tire and road flares in my car.

Keeping a pistol in your pocket is fine, but it is a sign of paranoia if you walk around the streets with it in your hands like Gordon Freeman.

Hmm. . .Way I see it, the only place government can get the right to use power is from the people. And two people don't have the right to do anything that one person doesn't have the right to do. Neither does a million people. So, basically, a government should have no rights that an individual wouldn't have outside government. And in a state like that, I don't feel I would have the right to tell people that they couldn't own certain kinds of firearms. If I owned a gun shop, I would have the right to refuse to sell guns to whoever I wanted, but that's not the same thing as telling other people who they can and cannot sell certain weapons to.
