yeah, bolts on rifles tend to be loud. Quite a bit louder than the firing pin click.

The trigger-Happy ones tend to get themselves weeded out pretty fast in a universally armed society. Natural Selection in action.

well what do you have thats firing with an open bolt?
If he racks the gun then dry fires then i could see how you could hear it, but other than that i dont, Little side not, dry firing is not good for your guns.

With some exceptions, that is. My .22 biathalon rifle is made to be dry fired safely.

Ive got 2 91/30s also a mosin nagant m38 carbine and a mosin nagant m44 carbine. Did you buy a 91/30 with hex reciever or a round one, and does it have a laminate stock or normal stock?

Flanny, good luck with the M1 Garand. Those run for like 500 to 700 dollars depending on condition and buyer, Not that i dont want one, I have an M1 carbine. The thing about Mosins though is they are CHEAP All mine 80 bucks appeace accept for the m44 that was 110 because duhnums hates me.

Uzi have you used it yet and what brand ammo are you using? I use Military surplus ammo and Wolf gold. Wolf is the only thing i use for my SKS m59/66, i use remington in it for hunting but compared to 4 bucks for 20 wolves and 20 bucks for 20 remingtons ill stick woth wolf.

My mauser k98 though is kinda became my wall hanger because it was overpriced for like 150 dollars, so now i just look at it.

What condition is the bore on your nagant? hows the stock look? Do the serial numbers all match?

Round reciever. Normal stock. Haven't used it yet. I have Wolf 200 grain softpoints for it (got an elk problem . Barrel's in great shape- stock needs refinished, though. And, all serial numbers I can find are matching. Also, it's from the Izhevsk arsenal.
